Do you think we're taking one of theirs? That's how psr fiddle would work right?

Yes. It's not a PSR fiddle. It's just... a sale.

No idea what he's on about.

£12m is crazy money relative to what we’ve seen from him. But maybe not relative to his potential if a club like Ipswich have scouted him and are happy to pay it.

Weird transfer.

I always thought he was suited to play more centre mid, definitely not a winger!

12m is very good money.

But it's always a little sad to see a grafter leave. The money, every penny of it, needs spending.

He's got some potential, and McKenna seems to have a talent for improving players. Hopefully he does the same for Kasey.

I don’t think this is a good move at all…. I mean, £12m is good money for him, but he’s shown capability at this level before…… we have poor depth as this, and this doesn’t help. The fact is we know we won’t get any good business done because we’re so ****ing slow….. genuinely don’t think we will make anything other than one loan signing…… and we will be left with no strength in depth…..

We might not receive the subsequent add-ons if he were to no longer play for Ipswich. All depends on the structure of the deal and what's guaranteed and what's conditional I guess.

It says 12 guaranteed + add ons so we will definitely get £12 no matter what

It would be ok if I had any trust in us getting a replacement in but I don’t so it leaves us short and lacking depth

You do understand that when a player has agreed a transfer with another club they can no longer be in our squad anyway?

Didn’t know it would have gone through by this point, these things can go on for a period of time. Really good and smarmy though mate, hope that made you happy

I think losing Kacey is a bigger loss that we think, yes he may not be Abdul, but he's hard working, has pace, is fit without imjuries and can finish, its ridiculous we didn't try him as a forward/striker, we need players like kacey when we have players like Soumare and mavididi who cant be arsed to run

In all seriousness, this seems very left field transfer for both clubs. Does he improve Ipswich? But he does weaken our options. I like the lad his work rate is there, he just needs to find his form a bit as he's a bit inconsistent

Unless we are going to buy one of their academy products, as a mutual PSR favour

Sad to see him go, as he's always worked hard for us, he loves the club, and both of those aspects seem in short supply from our current squad.

However, £12-14m is absolutely ludicrous. That is pure PSR profit, so if that goes straight into purchasing the striker we desperately need, it's a great deal.

With the £12m from Kasey, that takes us up to around £40m raised with a book value profit of £34.5m.

With the inevitable sales of BEK & JJ we will be at around £80m raised with a book value profit of £58m.

Not entirely convinced, personally.

I think they’re as good as gone tbh.

There was too much noise about JJ to Leeds prior to the injury for it to not happen, I think they are just waiting til he’s 100% for medical purposes & Bilal is gone as far as I’m concerned.

I hate due to psr we all need a mathematics degree to work profit out

That occurred to me

still be good for our psr this season even if we did

Would we sell kasey if we thought fats would leave ??

It certainly would help us be tougher with negotiations with BEK, as the profit from McAteer would outweigh what we'd get for how BEK is currently being valued/allegedly bid for.

It all depends on whether these sales are to reinvest in the squad or not.

I'd love to believe that McAteer gets sold so we don't have to sell those two (although more open to with Justin given he's in his final year with us)...and can reinvest in at least a striker.

...but enough about my fever dreams...
