The lad has had a really bad injury and is desperate to play. Get his start and is all excited and wants to impress. It was just a rush of blood to head as he was trying too hard and realised he made a mistake.

But that isn't a red, a yellow would have been sufficient. The ref bottled it and got influenced by the Oxford players and the crowd.

He gave the ref the opportunity to send him off and he will learn from that. For me it's big of him to come out on the evening to apologise, that is a positive.

He will learn from it, and Marti will have to have a word with him. But is anyone writes this lad off already, well that is ridiculous.

Perfectly summarised, the lad was trying too hard. First start for us, a little rash but it was never a red, one foot was still on the ground didn’t fly in to the challenge and was in control just poorly timed.

either way, I look forward to seeing him play and hopefully this won’t happen again.

What was he like until the red card?

Seemed to be waving his arms about because wasn't receiving the ball, I felt he was being bypassed quite a lot.

Didn't look much like a ball winner to me....

I said to my little lad about 2 mins before the red... he might as well not be on the pitch 🫣

My fault 🤣

Not sure ball winner is his role to be fair!

The red card meant two points were dropped yesterday, and Ramsey has now got to redeem himself which I'm confident he will do. As much as the tackle was reckless, it shows signs of a player who is at least passionate to play for the club, which hasn't been a given in recent times. That doesn't excuse the tackle though and he's obviously got to learn from it, so that any aggression within his game is channelled in a more productive way. In fairness, yesterday was the first red card of his career to date so it was more than likely an unfortunate one-off.

Red card? The games gone, end of.

He’s gone in quickly but it’s not exactly dangerous. Ricardo and Fatawu have made worse tackles for us this season and stayed on the pitch.

True the Ricardo tackle against Birmingham was worse

A harsh red card I felt, unfortunately we didn’t see much of him today. He is a good player and I think with winks in the middle he will be much better than what we did see today. Seemed to be a challenge out of frustration more than anything else

He went missing after the 24th minute

Fine margins in football with these decisions. If Ricardo gets sent off against Brum then he doesnt get the 2nd goal and Birmingham would have been full of confidence and all over us.

If Fatawu gets sent off in his first game for us, it would have taken much more from him to become a club favourite.

Both were worse tackles than Ramseys.

It’s a strange one that it looks better in slow motion and it’s usually the other way round with tackles.

In real-time, he absolutely flew into that tackle and small margins from the Oxford player getting badly hurt.

There were minimal protests on the pitch to the red and only a few more from the away end. It was a red card.

Yeah, in real time I don't blame the ref for thinking it was a red. I think there's a very strong chance it gets overturned on appeal though.

Having just watched the tackle by Hume on Rogers in the Sunderland/Villa game Sunday how the f Ramsey got a straight red for his strong challenge when Hume didn’t even get a yellow &/or VAR intervention is beyond comprehension.

Leicester should now use that in a hearing to get Ramsey’s rescinded.

edit: just seen ref watch obviously no mention of the Hume challenge, got to protect their premiership refs, but they do mention this 1 & again not even a yellow for a full on leg breaker which even had Dermot scratching his head as to why no Red

”QPR defender Amadou Mbengue is not booked after a horrendous tackle on Stoke's Ben Pearson - not even a free kick was awarded, with the game re-starting with a drop ball.”

Too late to get it rescinded now.

Typical, maybe we should do a Forest and demand we never get that weak, easily manipulated Referee again 😂

At the time i saw it i thought it was a straight red. Replays made me think borderline where you see some given and some not. I personally don't think the Ref made a howler on this one and i don't think VAR would have over turned it.

I know it’s all subjective, I didn’t see a straight red at the time or in the replays, yellow at most and even then given the area on the pitch it happened and how many covering Leicester players and zero Oxford players in front for that quick break another weekend it’s just a foul, these types do go on week in week out.

Studs were not high, 1 foot stays on the deck the whole time, he doesn’t catch any of the players lower leg all force is through thigh on thigh in my eyes (without blue tinted on)

cut to Hume Rogers is flung into the air a good metre+ and not because he jumps but because of the force he’s hit and mid leg. Not even a yellow and given the position of the Villa attack just surprising & then VAR surely they send the ref to the screen 🤷‍♂️

QPR/Stoke 1 again only a drop ball christ, it’s these calls that just drop the officials in the poop with teams and fans & that word consistency.

I thought the most dangerous thing in the Oxford game was the striker doing the old Harry Kane sneaky backing in to Luke Thomas while he was jumping for a header, he flipped him so much he nearly landed on his neck. Naturally the ref wasn't slightly bothered by it.
