I know it doesn't seem like a pressing issue, and in a way it isn't but in a way, it also is.

To most, including me, it's just a logo on a shirt but to a club that's trying to financially reset itself after being horribly mismanaged for the last few years, it is a revenue stream that we are currently missing out on.

We done some decent work in the transfer window getting ourselves on the right side of PSR and that will continue next season when the big contracts of Ayew, Daka, Soumare, Winks etc expire so we are taking steps into becoming more financially stable, it just seems weird that there is such an obvious opportunity to increase our income that we aren't taking.

Even if it's a small company who aren't paying crazy amounts, it's more than we are being paid right now.

What about that new toilet roll company on the TV  called

“Who gives a crap”  ?

Considering the actions of our owner in the past few years he really couldn’t give a shit I think the new sponsor would suit us very well !!!!

And fill some of the corporate boxes, money being lost there too!!

Corporates have largely lost interest now we're down again. It will always happen. Cannot build a reliable pipeline of revenue off bandwagoners that are only interested when we're good.

Interesting one this, probably 3/4 of hospitality was empty on Friday night, because they're still charging Premier League prices.

I've only ever been when it's paid for by work BUT, it's my 35th and Dad's 70th on the Portsmouth game, we were meant to be going away but can't now.... and with the kick off time it's perfect for a free bar/free food type celebration for us, i'd happily have paid £120-£150 each as a one off, but it's literally £250-300 each!

Doesn't look like they plan to do any special offers at all or discount this, so it will remain empty all season!

Give it to Jasons Sourdough for the season

This is such a good idea on so many levels, which is exactly why it won't happen. With their current hype it could do us just as much good as it does them!

Quite nice to see the shirt without shit logos plastered all over it. :dunno:

Either do the right thing and give the space to a charity - which won't happen, or leave it blank.

Refreshing to have fans walking around the ground who aren't walking advertising hoardings for some **** scam betting company.

Same said fans will be refreshing sky bet frantically throughout the game to see if their bets have come in.

Quite happy with the blank shirt to be honest. How much money are we likely to get from a shirt sponsor for this season, anyway? If it's (relatively) small and we can comfortably meet PSR without it, I'd much rather we took the hit and kept the blank shirt (especially given we're this far in and most fans will want sponsorless ones, even after the fact).

LOROS or another local charity is a great shout. Particularly for the away/3rd kits.

If we do want to take on an actual sponsor, didn't Walkers make a bid before we went with BC? Would happily take them back. Particularly if they'd let us use their old logo like on the 90/92 kit. Think an monochrome white logo would look really smart against the blue and at least there's local ties.

What a bizarre sponsorship deal that would be. You're paying for the front of sponsor as advertisement. That would make these dodgy sponsorships look even worse somehow.

The only answer...

Perhaps an unpopular opinion, if Walkers sponsored us today without any prior history, the majority would say it’s a “horrible logo to have on the shirt and it looks fvck ugly”. People only want it out of nostalgia. At least it would be above board mind.

A top end championship deal can be up to 5-8 million, so its a decent amount when its pure profit to the club.

For example the Red Bull shirt sponsorship value for Leeds United is approximately £8 million per year, as reported in August 2024.

Isn't that because they part own Leeds, so probably paying over the odds?
