I still think they'll be pretty competent this season. Top half or something. But the throwing shit at a wall strategy will only work for so long.

I just don't see how they've improved. Spent well over 200m as well.

Feels like they've had the same sort of summer that we did in 2021 where we spent loads but bought horrendously (Soumare, Vestergaard, Daka, Bertrand)

But the base of the squad was already good / is good enough for this season to be a relatively fuss free affair, I think.

Its next summer when they inevitably lose Murillo, Gibbs-White etc and the purse strings tighten a bit that the real test begins.

It helps them that their team is pretty much all tied up for a few years so they don't have to worry about offering daft contracts to keep players but a few might want to move on in the next year or two. Especially if they're not being paid like Gibbs-White is. It'll be interesting to see how they choose to keep players happy.

Clear downgrades like Elanga to Ndoye/Hutchinson will continue to happen over the next few years.

I don't really see how Forest could be in a position to turn their nose up at Ange.

It’s kind of like what we did though. Maresca had a style and then we appointed the complete opposite in Cooper.

Here you have Nuno who has always built his teams on solid defence, good fitness and a counter attack ability, to now a manager who plays a high defensive line, high press, all out kamikaze football. It’s a disaster.

Yup. It's laughable! They all got giddy at the thought of completely unrealistic names that are taking sideways or even backwards steps to go them. Never gonna happen! We should be hounding their fans as to why they don't go for Stevie boy after all their chat. Irony at its finest...

I actually like Ange, but that’s a complete 180 from their current style isn’t it?

This would be the one major worry Forest fans would have.

Milenkovic and Murillo defending on the half way line is a recipe for disaster.

He will get early results and they will play really exciting stuff. This will be lauded as a great appointment. But it won't take long for the cracks to appear, especially in the PL. He will run them to the ground and it will fall apart.

It will be interesting to see if if changes it bit by bit as they've had no preseason, or if he just goes all in. He seems the sort to just say 'f**k it' and go for it.

Agree.

They were really lucky with injuries last season.

That can't last. And it won't under Ange.

Would be interesting to see how thew players react I know a lot of them loved Nuno especially some of the younger ones....

As Chelmofox says Ange will get a couple of decent results and then it will all fall apart...

I bet this has made @Bilo just as happy as its made me!

I think most PL teams know how to play Ange anyway, unless he changes things.
