I don’t get the clamour for him to take over This has been pointed out before, but it’s worth stating again because so many on here fail to understand that the role of a coach is to support the man in charge - they have very little say in the direction that the manager takes. Personally, the reason I like the idea of Andy being appointed is that I see him as a galvanising figure - someone that can help bring together all the horribly disjointed aspects around the club at the moment, including the fan base; and that is arguably the most important aspect at the moment, rebuilding that important relationship between fans and players. 2
Old Fox Posted 3 February Posted 3 February Think Andy King will in time be a great coach and possibly a manager as he is bright however we need a manager and now! we need some experience and discipline with a leader who will not accept egos and players who won’t work - we have enough ability but are disorganised and look unfit whilst not playing for one another - this is not the time for inexperience. god knows who though 😂

Just 4-2-3-1 every game, no real speed to it, no link ups. Just a load of nothing. Wasn't dissimilar to Cooper. Cooper had a plan it was just bad, push one wing back really high to make a 4 behind the striker and have the other sit in, it’s why Justin looked totally shite under him, was just a bad plan. Marti made a line up and then wished the boys good luck for the most part, only coherent role in the end was James as the 8

I'd certainly prefer that to Russell getting the job. 4 hours ago, Mickyblueeyes said: Id be a lot calmer with Kingy staying in the role if he had a very experienced ex manager with him, not just Sadler. Someone who can come in say to him. Take the risk and drop Thomas and/or Ayew etc. he doesn’t have that and it’s a being thrown to the lions scenario. I think the thing with the Charlton game is you can’t really call it a fair audition - skeleton squad thrown into chaos really early on. We’ll know more this weekend. And on the older head alongside… I’m not bothered about that, I reckon Andy will have enough good contacts in the game to build a solid coaching team if he got the job full time or at the very least, to the end of the season. And on Thomas - I’m not as keen to see him replaced in the side as the majority on here. He has aspects of his game that are potentially very good - admittedly that’s going forward more than defensively - but I do wonder if utilised a bit better, with a better defensive framework around him, we might see opinions on him change… a little. Either that, or Kristensen starts and it becomes clear he’s the least bad option in the position. 1
Popular Post Samilktray Posted 3 February Popular Post Posted 3 February Been told we’ve spoke to someone managing in Georgia who used to play up front for Spurs, Inter Milan and LA Galaxy. Bit too niche for me to guess that but my source won’t tell me a name yet 6

Craig Posted 3 February Posted 3 February What on earth are they doing? It rattles me so much that they never realise the urgency of a situation.
winteriscoming Posted 3 February Author Posted 3 February Vasco Matos. Got Santa Clara promoted to primeria league in Portugal and then finished 5th with them. Just been sacked after a poor season with them just above the relegation zone. 2 1
whoareyaaa Posted 3 February Posted 3 February No manager with a decent rep is coming until the points deduction is confirmed imo

Bluetintedspecs Posted 3 February Posted 3 February Maybe the yet to be announced manager is, influencing behind the scenes whilst his contractual situation is being sorted, Mr X who's presented a wish list of loan prospects and player profile targets? 🤷♂️ Do we know anyone that would have first hand knowledge of Man City and Chelseas top class youngsters and be very specific on what's required 🤔 3

Our esteemed DoF is only just brushing down his windows 95 PC and typing (one finger) into AskJeeves 'how do I find football manager?' 1

A little lazy but tried and tested. I could also believe we tapped up Maresca to give us a tip off about potential targets which would if true make a mockery of our scouting system.
winteriscoming Posted 3 February Author Posted 3 February Any possibility of Willy Cabellero being under consideration? Assistant with Chelsea and here under Enzo. No actual managerial experience but that wouldn’t stop these clowns.

You can trace it all back to the complacency he revealed in that interview. They just don't learn. They really don't seem to think anything is wrong. 5

Mike1983 Posted 3 February Posted 3 February Id rather have Mike Stowell back as a permanent interim than most of the realistic options mentioned in this thread. 1
PhillippaT Posted 3 February Posted 3 February Our new signings should be enough to keep us up with a decent manager, now, right? Right?
Clever Fox Posted 3 February Posted 3 February There's no point in bringing in a new Manager if we don't have decent money to spend. Any Manager with ambition is not going to accept the job. Why would you be saddled with the rubbish we have now.
jamfox Posted 3 February Posted 3 February Not sure how much this has been on the radar but Vitor Pereira ? Wolves looked like going down and he smashed it in the EPL to start with , and yes it did all go to shit but they solld his best players and they were still shit after he left. 1
Tuna Posted 3 February Posted 3 February They are obviously going to give King a game or two to see if he can influence things. Charlton was a write off. 2
