Trying a new formation is desperate, 13 games in and he doesn't know his strongest team or formation is a massive red flag. Have we actually started the same team twice yet?

They have had 1 or 2 days to prep for this change. Why not do it AFTER the international break? actually practice this new formation? Fatawu is by far our most attacking threat and you are basically killing that threat as if Middlesbrough have anything about them they will pin him back by either actually attacking or telling their left winger to not defend. Leaving us vulnerable on the break especially with the lack of pace we have at the back.

Fair play for anyone bothering going tonight think i will watch the bake off final instead.

“Backing the Lads” does not mean sitting in silence for 90 minutes but clapping after another limp defeat.

majority of our fans think turning up to games is 'backing the lads' that is the issue.

If a bunch of grown blokes earning more than most people do in a year, a week cannot turn up and play for 90 mins they deserve the criticism they rightly deserve then that's on them.

Surely Aluko would start at LWB rather than Silko Thomas?

I know……. ****ing unreal. I mean Aluko has looked far ****ing better than Silko ever did at academy level….. so I’m starting to think we’ve actually got Stevie Wonder as a coach…..

Desperate or not, 3 at the back is the right move for us.

It makes us more solid in the middle, compensating for a total lack of defensive midfielders.

It takes our weakest position out of the mix, meaning we don't have to play Thomas or Kristiansen. And I hate to say it, but Pereira isn't the same player defensively he once was either.

And it gives us more numbers in midfield, hopefully therefore creating more overloads, allowing us to hopefully actually create chances in the game.

It makes a lot of sense.

Playing Soumare, and Silko ahead of Aluku doesn't, but it's a step in the right direction for me, if true. I don't think it'll solve all of our issues overnight but I expect us to look a bit easier on the eye as a result of the formation change alone.

Shut up Ric!

The only natural solution to our current left back problem is a right sided attacking midfielder who has had no imact at U21 level or in League 1!!!!

It’s because Silko is one of the oldest out of that group. Nothing more than that

I mean, Aluko isn’t a left back either…

Sorry I completely agree with you! I was just saying Silko is only being picked because he’s one of the oldest u21 players and not on his ability.

Sorry for the confusion haha

Fatawu might be more effective at RWB than he is in the current system... give him a bit more space to run into rather than being boxed in by 2 defenders near the corner flag with no runners.

I’m not against a manager trying a different formation but he really should’ve been doing it in other games. Obviously something hasn’t been working why work it out now?

Do you want him to wait until the next game ?

The remembrance fixture is always one of my favourites - one thing we've always done incredibly well and one I never miss. But I have zero motivation or desire to make the 90 minute journey to go and watch Leicester put another clueless performance in. They will absolutely batter us.

We did shift to three at the back when chasing one of our recent games and it did look alright in fairness
