Looking forward to everyone singing for the first 15 minutes before something goes wrong and then all of a sudden the players are hounded again for the remaining 75 mins to damage any little confidence they have left.

I am certainly not saying that recent performances have been good by any stretch of the imagination, but the same people singing:

Leicester boys are we, Proud of our city, In the good times and the bad, We always back the lads, We won the Premier league.

are then not backing them and slaughtering them?

I know you pay your money so you can do/sing what you want but so do the rest of us who actually want to go and support the lads, even when they aren’t producing the goods.

And no, I’m not John Rudkin / Top.

What are we supposed to do? Politely applaud an intercepted pass? Murmur appreciatively at Daka falling over on the edge of the box? Raise an excited buzz at the sight of prime Ayew doing 4 step-overs near the corner flag before turning and dribbling back to the halfway line, then passing to Vestergaard? Shout encouraging words and slogans at Soumare as he breaks into a jog whilst "chasing back"?

Or do we instead let them and Marti know that it's not appropriate to do these things and we expect more?

My comments in the 'match ratings' thread for the Blackburn game:

I see that Soumaré has amassed an average score of 1.9! I am sure this would be much lower if it were possible to give a score of zero (1 is the least you can give).

As I was pretty sure we would lose this match from the moment the team sheet was released, I decided to spend the game observing Soumaré to try to see why managers continue to pick him.

I cannot express how f****** awful he was! His lack of effort is absolutely GOBSMACKING!! How he gets away with it god-alone-knows. He has no positional sense - his contribution to defending is the same as it is to the attack --- ABSOLUTELY SWEET F*** ALL!

Did someone say he earns £90,000 a week? I am serious when I say that if you put a number 24 shirt on a traffic cone, it would contribute more to the team in terms of effort, morale, attitude, awareness and all-round footballing ability. Honestly - this is a player who should be nowhere near the squad - he is an embarrassment to the club, the team and himself. The only player who makes Junior Lewis look like a cross between Cruyff, Pelé and Messi.

....and yet, come tuesday, there he'll be - aimlessly lolling about thinking of that big, big wage packet!!!

--- And now I'm hearing that he IS in the team tonight. Surely that can't be correct . SURELY?! The bloke is an absolute liabilty.

look at it the other way, us fans are putting in alot of time/effort/money to go watch our team, bare in mind its not cheap at all to go to matches nowadays

while the players on the pitch are still getting paid thousands PER WEEK/game, for at times seems very little.....even in terms of effort

the fans will back the team no matter what as long as there is some fight and atm there is more fight outside a pub on a friday night

Normally optimistic, but this shower have sucked the life out of the place for the last 2-3 years . Going to Norwich on Saturday for my sins, and after wavering this morning, stuck with my decision not to go tonight and not put it up for resale. Our seats will stay empty tonight.

Back the lads sure, we all want to, but 90% of them could not give a crap about the club or the fans, so for me, they can stick it tonight after that sorry excuse for a ‘performance’ on Saturday. We’ve seen some s**t the past eighteen months, but that was up there with the worst of it.

If we win, fantastic, if we lose, not ideal, but either way just show the fans who are there tonight that they are professional and give a toss. For far too long that hasn’t been the case, and sadly I don’t see that changing on a consistent basis any time soon.

Quite frankly at the moment, I can’t wait to see the back of most of the squad, along with Rudkin and the board. What a sorry state we’ve become. A lesson in how not to run a football club

If you wanna go there and give your backing to Vestergaard, Winks, Soumare, Ayew, Daka et al then crack on.

I guarantee they don't care whether you do or don't.

It's no different from seeing a decent opening 10 minutes followed by an abject 80 from the players.

The fans only react accordingly to what is produced on the field of play.

And if the players aren't going about it professionally, they should have every expectation of being shouted at.

We're not even that great at showing our displeasure of the situation.  Southampton at the weekend were audibly much more disgruntled, which is exactly what our fan base should be.

We have 2 midfielders, Winks and Soumare who are coining it in and on the last year of their contract. They don't give a toss and every good team needs a decent midfield. For all of Winks positives he never puts his foot in. If he's not seeing the ball he's anonymous. Soumare is just a headless chicken with no finesse. I rate JJ but he can't do it on his own.

Sat here thinking - "should I stay or should I go

Trying to find the motivation to support these turds is excruciatingly hard!

My point is that as it stands, a player can make an honest mistake - if it’s Jordan James or Fatawu then it’s fine - if it’s any of the others they get slaughtered. Then from that point everything is negative.

Anyway, look forward to hearing you all tonight!

I can get behind players that make a genuine mistake if they're putting a shift in.  But if mistakes are made and players aren't bothered to put a shift in, they fully deserve the criticism.

I 100% agree with this, but some don’t.

A miss placed pass after 5 minutes and they will get slaughtered, nothing to do with effort.

Seems to be two categories on here, happy clappers or angry mobsters ready for blood.

There is a middle ground which I believe people are missing.
