I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt for now simply because he lost his Dad and the club was kinda forced on him

No doubt he’s been badly advised , but it takes guts to come out and say you’ve messed up , so hopefully this is the start of something good, time will tell though

Exactly what I was thinking.
Must actually be hard for him loosing his dad the way he did and maybe it’s taken until now to get his head together.
Happy to give them time as long as they communicate and seem to be trying to sort it. Whether it’s a successful or not only time will tell but glad to see something actually happening for a change.
Who they appoint for Technical Director will signal to me if this is the right direction or not so will wait until then.

He asks us to get behind what the club are trying to do.  So when does he tell us what him and Rudkin are trying to do? I can’t see any plan apart from shite football, shite players led by shite managers. Want to make the club what it was, there’s one man who can do that and I’d be asking him if he could do the DOF role

The KPFC fans on Facebook are lapping up this interview. He literally says nothing other than he wants to communicate.

He needs a tangible plan and to make sure the right people are hired at every level of the club. The sporting director is going to be a huge role. Get that right and we can start to shift the deadwood and rebuild the squad. Get it wrong and we could end up just carrying on as we are with poor recruitment and a poor culture throughout the club.

Not arsed what league we are in, just want the club to have a clear direction and to have players that will give their all for the club.

Huge rebuild needed and I'm yet to be convinced that Top and his lapdog Rudkin are in anyway capable of overseeing this.

Just got round to listening to this.

I was dubious before, but now I’ve listened…

What a load of bollocks. Where were you 4 years ago Top? Or 3? Or 2? Or last year?

Seeing as you know so much about horses, you’re locking the stable door after the horse is already down the road

He never actually came out and said he had messed up though.

It was all "maybe it was my fault"

I think that’s how most of us feel

Sacking Rudkin / taking football control away from him. What does it matter? Are we so precious we need some vapid signalling from our owner?

Will change very little. He'll still be an absentee owner in the main.

"Wanting to be closer to the fans" but then sending someone with no connection to the club or to the sport to meet the FAB sums it up.

King Power won't turn this club around.

If he is true to his word and brings in a td to control football matters, and not a Rudkin proxy, then fine.

Call me a cynic but all I can think about this is, why now?

They've been almost radio silent whilst our decline has happened and now after a few chants which they've found offensive there's suddenly a call for togetherness. I just don't buy it

Exactly. The fact he’s doing this now and has let it get to this point is all the proof we need - he’s not fit to run our club. Really odd that some have continued to give him the benefit of the doubt because of who his dad was.

Makes you wonder why now after 4years of nothing watching the club rot. Wondering if they have been told behind the scenes about how many points we are having taken of us...so he comes out with this smoke screen to dampen the flames when we drop in the bottom 3...does make you wonder. They do have history doing this stuff.

It wouldn’t have taken much to do this in a Leicester pub or restaurant. But then it would have because he literally doesn’t care.

He'd actually have to be in Leicester to do this, don't be ridiculous 😂

It was recorded before the chants to be fair. But I get your point - too little too late.

Ah didn't know that, thanks for the info. But yeah the timing for me is still strange and sadly it will probably have the effect the club wants it to, further delaying any significant changes that the club so desperately needs

I don't think the language barrier helps. It was a tough listen that's for sure.

But it's nice to hear some acceptance of past faults alongside the news of any restructure. Actions do speak louder than words, though.

It is possible to hold distain towards KP for past actions, whilst also welcoming at least SOME information (that we've all asked for) and seeing what good if any can come of it.

All the more reason for other clubs officials to stand up and communicate. Perhaps the Director of Football could share our footballing philosophy and aspirations?

Obviously Rudkin is not the communicative type, which makes one wonder whether the Technical Director, when appointed, will be able to step up and fulfil these functions essential in a successful modern club?
