We shouldn’t be surprised that the work ethic and attitude was better once the likes of Faes, Winks, Soumare etc are not involved. None of them should have been given all those extra lives.

 

I want to see more of that directness and tempo going forward.

Delighted with result but league one Derby were every bit as poor as I'd expect a team from the lower divisions to be. 

 

Amongst their top 5 biggest games in 19 years and then to be horribly, brutally bummed on national TV. One has to feel for them.

It’s so nice to come away from a game not hating the team. I’d forgotten what it was like.

Thomas, Skipp, Nelson all absolutely sublime today.

 

Fantastic to see the amount of academy products on the pitch. This is the future not want away dickheads like Winks and Faes. Don’t go back Marti.

2nd half felt a bit more like the Leicester we know from this season, but that 1st half cheered me up.

One guarantee in life it seems is we'll beat Derby. Doesn't matter how good they are, how bad we are, we just win against them. It's probably the root of why they just don't bother me much in rivalry terms. I just find them funny if anything.

 

First half was excellent - best half of the season. Even the biggest moaner (I'm up there) could have no complaints.

 

Second half just felt like self enforced hard work though. They were so bad and we gave them a chance that they should never have had.

 

A win and a couple of the twat squad bombed out though is a start.

A much needed win and so many good performances . For me Jakub probably deserved MOTM for is blocks and saves especially late in the game.

 

Skipp showing us that he can actually play football and credit to him for not buckling under the pressure. He just needs to keep it up now.

 

James was excellent again.

 

Nelson never put a foot wrong and was strong when he needed to be. 

 

Mavs simple pass to Thomas brought a Goal. He has to learn from that, keep it simple when it's on. Fatawu the same.

 

I thought Silko and Hamza both done well when coming on.

 

A big improvement from last week, We just need to keep it up.

It was Vestegaard for a bit. Who was also our highest xg player in the league at number 65.

The uptick in effort levels with no Faes, Winks or Soumare on the pitch was as clear as day, for the record.

 

It's a damn shame it's taken until his job was hanging by a thread for Marti to find the blueprint. Even other deservedly-maligned players stepped up without those shysters around them (Thomas, Vesty, ESPECIALLY Skipp).

 

It's almost like there really are bad eggs in the squad. I'm not going to declare this the turning point in our season yet, but well done to Marti for finally doing what the fans have wanted all season. Seeing that many academy lads on the pitch at the end was a joy.

Up to the players but also particularly the manager to play like that consistently.

JJ, Skippy, Bobby Reid and Nelson were excellent today. Good work from the rest of them too. Probably only Abdul disappointed a bit. I was particularly impressed with Skipp. I’ve been his biggest critic but he won the ball countless times, played positively, passed it well and got a goal!
