Proper test for us.

If JJ isn't fit then lets see what we do without him (especially if we don't sign him and someone comes in for him come Jan transfer window)

I cant see us getting anything without him in the team as im afraid he really is that influential for us atm.

When the deal is obligation to buy, can anyone else just come in and buy him?

I think we have an option with James rather than an obligation, but I don’t think anyone else can buy him in January unless all parties agreed, which presumably we wouldn’t.

Going to struggle to fill the squad if James is out… Brandon Cover next in line for a call up? Or the lesser spotted club record signing Michael Golding?

I doubt if it will even come up as I'm pretty sure Rennes don't have a recall option. It's a season-long loan with an option to buy. He won't be going anywhere in January and we will be able to get him for €5m in the summer IF he still wants to join us.

That's the 5million pound question- we will suck any joy he has of playing out of him by then!!
