Anyone though he may have had some say in this?

The players wishes are also taken into account something most seem to have forgotten.

Last tweet i read was him saying something along the lines of enjoying his time and wanting to stay at Newport.

What a waste of time. He's playing major catch-up and almost certainly would have been an important player for us (if he could handle the physicality) if not for injuries. To have him at 22 never having played higher than L2 is tragic.

What if things don't go well for him at Chesterfield? Will be viewed as a League 2 player at best when he could be much better than that, as the environment is key to a good loan spell.

If he can’t cut it at chesterfield then he’s not going to be worth much to us regardless, we’ve not sunk that low, yet

He played well again. They starting getting him on the ball and lot more 2nd half

He grew into it definitely he’ll not have played with them or really trained. I’d imagine he’ll be starting for them.

He looks well disciplined with his positioning often back helping the defence but getting forward at the right opportunities.

Something we've lacked massively.

Player rating from the Derbyshire news

7. Sammy Braybrooke 7

The third of three new signings to be chucked straight in. He's on loan from Leicester City until the end of the season. Has impressed on loan at Newport County this campaign. Showed glimpses of what he can offer but it was also clear to see he was still getting to know his team-mates. Grew into it and started to dictate attacks in the second-half.

Seems like he settled into chesterfield almost straight away. Only seen positive comments from their fans. But disappointed he’s not moved to a league 1 club but it’s a step up for him at least

With Braybrooke now at Chesterfield, surely we’ll have to dip into the (free) transfer market to get central midfield cover. Winks is a write off and Soumare is injured and unreliable - we have no cover for JJ and no competition for Skipp (he needs it as he’s been a passenger in the last two defeats.) Page is very young and he’s having to be the number 10 rotation anyway.

While he was still at the club.

He's hardly going to say any different?.

I doubt this has anything to do with it. Surely this is about his development and fees at this level are a drop in the ocean compared to some 1st team players salaries.

Fuchs isn't employed by our club so shouldn't factor into any decision. Of course the worst team in L2 would want to keep him, he was frequently rated their best player. As nice as that sounds, our academy boy shouldn't be rated their best player every week.

In circumstances like this you've got to trust everyone behind the scenes. The goal surely is for him to keep playing regularly and developing. Maybe they tried L1 but there were no guarantees, so likely the thinking was that a team pushing for promotion is now better experience.

The club couldn’t pay staff or issue stewards food vouchers. It’s entirely plausible that a loan fee could be making a difference right now (no matter how small).

Yes, Fuchs is not our employee, but that not being a factor would be symptomatic of our clubs disregard for some of those legends (I recently went to the Q&A with Morgan, Albrighton, Huth & Simpson and it was clear they are dismayed at the state of the club and that none of their era apart from King are involved). We should want Fuchs to do well as any player from that side becoming a top class manager becomes a potential manager for us in future.

Trust everyone behind the scenes?! Forgive me for not having much faith in anyone behind the scenes right now…

This seems incredibly naive and sentimental.

Wonder if him moving back to Leicester to live makes any difference?

maybe we were picking up the tab for his living expenses in Newport ? maybe he wasn’t enjoying living down there ?

I can say from experience Newport is a shit hole

Probably not, but he could have just said nothing.

saying “no comment” is a bit of a crappy move when your on loan at a club..
