The State Of the “Official” Foxes Fanstore, otherwise known as the Club Shop

Okay, I don’t think we’ve discussed this in detail with its own topic.

 

We all agree we’ve needed to step up our game commercial for some time.

 

However, have you seen th state of some of the gubbins on the official club shim website ( and at the club shop as well I’m assuming)? 
 

Fatawu 70 yard goal posters, mugs, t-shirts!

It's not for me and the price is eye watering for what it is but that cagoule isn't that bad. The slippers are inoffensive.

 

The Fatawu merch will rightly sell sod all, most people have already pushed that goal to the back of their minds after Saturday's slapping.

 

And those socks are just ****ing weird – regardless of current ill-feeling towards them, why would you want the sponsor (who don't even sponsor us) / ownership plastered all over some socks? I can't imagine any other club doing that.

But yeah, the shop is filled with shite as are most club shops and other high street places.

So the club can react and fill the club shop with a load of old tat at the drop of a hat to celebrate a goal yet cannot pay their staff on the date agreed just before Christmas.

To be fair we went to Derbys club shop and it was certainly no better and probably worse. Club shops are targeted at a range of audiences that are possibly not what we call hard core football fans. I am not sure given the dire core product that is being served up presently that the shop is our biggest issue.

Yes we sell some absolute tat but it'll take 5 seconds of looking through any other club's site for something equally as bad.

 

Here's the biggest club in the country charging £20 for a bit of red cloth and £12 for a piece of paper.

You'd think the merch and the sales would be iterative, e.g that sold well because it's a good design, that sold poorly - let's not bother again. King Power ****ing socks , nobody is buying those other than as a wind up.

 

Football club merch should be easy, just find out what is selling well on Esty, Art of Football or any of the other 100s of sites flogging coasters and posters and just copy the designs and put the the official crest on. You have people that will get your brand logo tattooed, fans will buy all sorts if it's just not complete shit - it should be easy. The fact it's shit was damning on Vichai, Whelan and Top with a supposed retail background.

 

This is exactly the sort of thing that suffers from actively not employing fans of the club.
