Hopefully a FOI request goes in for the actual number not the propaganda number.

Not sure why I keep reading this on here. You can't FOI the club.

Club have to submit the actual figure to the cops, from what I've read.

It’ll get postponed with the snow, unsafe conditions outside the ground for the 35 Leicester fans attending

Never not when its on Sky, remember a decade ago V Middlesborough it was horrendous and still went on cos of Sky.

Sky own footy.

That was the day when most businesses in town let everyone out early and it took them hours to get home, whereas if you left at normal time it didn't take much longer than usual for a lot of people. A few lessons learned there.

Also, fell on my arse in the Bingo car park walking to the game, but so much snow by then in a fun way

I’ve missed a couple recently partly due to family stuff but tonight a commute down the A46 possibly minus 4 on the way back isn’t looking good . Too late to list it and probably 100 for sale in my block anyway.
I think could be down to £20k tonight

What about if it could be organised that all the boycotters go to the ground still but protest before, during and after the game outside?

A few hundred people would be quite noticeable.

It's a bit cold though isn't it?

They'll just use one of the FOI Act exemptions, commercial sensitivity or information provided in confidence.  These will need to pass an internal public interest test threshold, which they will.  It would then be on the applicant to appeal.  Which they'll probably, but not inevitably, lose.

Most likely a local journo that actually does this, fairly common practice.

None of that works for West Ham.

Good luck to you then. I hope you do get the information and that's a useful precedent.  I deal with FOIs regularly for a central government department and not a chance we'd be giving information provided by commercial stakeholders up in the first instance.* Be interesting to know if the fan groups won on appeal or whether it was released voluntarily.

*a lot does obviously depend on particular circumstances.  Was or is the West Ham stadium publicly subsidised for example (I think it was), that will absolutely lower the threshold on the public interest test.

Maybe I have not interpreted your post how you meant it but I’m not sure this is the thread to essentially say, you don’t support the boycott (as it sounds like you’d go if the weather was good), but your not supporting the team by not going but would also have not supported the boycott in putting your ticket for resale if it was not too late/you thought it would sell :whistle:

Who can forget that Ipswich away game on Sky. That was insane.

First time in a while I have had a promo email from the club telling me tickets were on general sale.

The game being in -1 and a few other factors will make the attendance worse, but its simple for the club to excuse it away that it was just because of the weather etc. Will be interesting to see how the figures go with the next boycott.

Mate of mine had this response from Leicester City Council in response to a FOI request for actual attendance figures:

‘The Council does not hold this information. Therefore this letter acts as a refusal notice under section 17.1 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 because, in accordance with section 1.1 of the Act, this information is not held by Leicester City Council.

We do issue a general Safety Certificate for Leicester City Football Club, but this states a maximum capacity that the ground can hold on matchdays. There is no requirement for the club to share attendance figures for any match.‘
