Just don't get why we shouldn't celebrate it. Yes we shouldn't have been down there and more pragmatic and sensible actions, we would not have been,

But that chance went, it happened and the owners were never likely to go off the back of that as is there right,

Harking back to last failures ain't helpful because it cannot be rewritten, and the owners don't share fan sensibility clearly.

Its unlikely they accept it is fully their fault and even if they did they cannot change it either and they probably believe it is their task to fix it,

Its not healthy, let it go as picking this scab does nothing good. .

Was just a hollow victory really wasn’t it?

I have let go 😂

But unfortunately the owners decisions and our collective lack of trying to do anything about Rodgers and after him lands us in a situation we’re still paying a price for.

Not that it’ll ever happen now, but the time when you could truly look back and say the last 5 years is firmly in the past is when we’re back in the PL and battling in the top half again

I totally get this view because as you intimate the only reason we were in the Champs was because of gross ineptitude from the people who run our club.

The only mild satisfaction I could get was that at least we set a record for most 2nd tier wins...

It was exactly why I could never get excited by us getting to the semis of the Euro Conference League, as again we were only in it by massively ****ing up.

Yep, my opinion of the ECL Semi was precisely the same too, and was definitely not a feather in Rodgers’ or our clubs cap given the fact we had to fail in order to make that tournament

It’d be like the KPFC fans celebrating a FA Trophy Semi Final appearance.

Let’s not go there

It’s why I’m taking it so hard….. wouldn’t mind of we hadn’t had a shred of the success we’ve had over the last ten years, because where would the evidence be to warrant such expectations?

Because of everything we did achieve it gave us an opportunity no club has ever had before to build, and we’ve screwed it up, through incompetence. Which is why I’m so pissed off with everything at the moment.

True.

You can take a few bad decisions but they have been compounding rather than nipping things in the bud.  Just like watching the football now. The team should be performing better but better choices were needed to be made.  Hindsight wasn’t needed to know Marti would not be good.  He said everyone gets a clean slate and just repeated the same mistakes adding his own level of dross.

You don’t have to be the best player if simple tactics and passages of play are drilled in.  We constantly get out done on the wings by a simple 1-2 pass and cross.  Or a loose ball while passing to the forwards with their back to goal then hit with a counter.  Our team actively avoid crossing the ball quickly and act like they will get docked wages if they pass and move forwards into space.

A few positive changes from above and on the pitch can turn things around, it won’t happen though. Start by getting rid of Ramsey and Carranza, waste of time and money.  The club needs to stop being a donkey sanctuary.

Sell Winks, Faes and make sure JV is only backup unless desperate.

Start to actually coach players like Okoli, Fatawu, Monga and Mav. If they don’t listen then bench them until they get it but work the team so the attackers get all the support they need.

Signing JJ and building an attacking side around him, Nelson and a few of the youngsters would be a start. For that we need Marti and his team as far away from them. (Insert but who would manage/Martin  copes for sticking with Marti).

Fellas in this thread are actually defending the bottling of Top 4 twice in a row?

Hilarious, same guys would be happy with with their wife cheating on them.

Leicester City remained in the top 3 for the majority of BOTH 19/20 and 20/21 yet BOTTLED the UCL spots.

Leicester City were then joint favourites to win the Europa League in 20/21 and guess what? Choked in the group stages.

Getting kicked out a group with Legia Warszawa and Spartak Moskva :nigel:

A lot tends to happen in the first quarter of games, we go in front or we are a disaster.

Would probably take a solid point, but don't think we do that, if we draw it will because we've through it away.

We'll get out fought in this one.  Physically battered.  No chance of getting anything.

Dead right. They are going to beat us up. Usual 3-0 by half time, and think we are due a sending off. My guess is Fatawu or Ricardo, both of whom are looking increasingly reckless.
