I agree, I can’t see anyone coming in, we’ve essentially placed ourselves on an embargo, and it will be for appearances sake more than anything. And still, some will back Top and Rudkin? When we’re in such a mess. 7

CrazyKopCorner Posted 15 January Posted 15 January I think you''ll find the recruitment team have the 1st 3 weeks of January off as holiday every year 1
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 15 January Posted 15 January Struggling to keep up with all these rumoured incomings!
Stadt Posted 15 January Posted 15 January Say we were paying Carranza £10k per week, even half of that weekly could go towards a decent-ish young striker on loan. Cifuentes would have worked with Deniz Gül at Hammarby, only gets 10 minutes here and there for Porto, a 6 month loan would suit all 3 parties. My feeling is that we barely even try 4

Apparently Rudkin doesn't even work Fridays which says it all 1

WigstonWanderer Posted 15 January Posted 15 January Seems like the powers that be have concluded that this season is a bust in terms of promotion, but don’t expect to get relegated, so no real incentive for signings.

On one hand, I don't actually disagree with this way of thinking, as even if by some miracle we make a few signings and get promoted, then what, we're not going to be in a postition to improve the squad enough to compete in the top flight, so might as well save now and spend later. On the other hand, I've got to watch this shit each week and the club not doing anything about it is infuriating.
Edingleyfox Posted 15 January Posted 15 January Doesn’t feel as if anyone at the helm in this window and certainly no long term plan. More than happy to be corrected on this I suspect a hammering this weekend by Coventry will bring things into focus. 2

It only takes a points deduction to put us with relegation problems. This shocking attitude whereby we think we are ok and we'll go for promotion next season sums up this club. We need to go full out for promotion this season and deal with next season as it happens.

If we're getting a points deduction that would put us in the relegation picture, how are we going to go for promotion? 2
Ryy Posted 15 January Posted 15 January I genuinely need to be appointed head of recruitment. We’d be in the UCL within 5 years 3

Surely we hope no points deduction but complacency in thinking we're "ok" could cost us. Go for promotion and if there is a points deduction we could stay safe.
ozleicester Posted 16 January Posted 16 January We are all slowly coming to the realisation that nothing is going to happen and we are in for another 4 months of hopelessnes shaded with occasional highs like beating Cov and Derby 1

I have realised since last August and there will be no victory over Cov.

Popular Post Sly Posted 20 January Popular Post Posted 20 January Look at of our winter transfer recently: 25/26 - None 24/25 - Coulibaly 23/24 - None 22/23 - Souttar, Kristiansen, Tete 21/22 - None 20/21 - None 19/20 - Bennett 18/19 - Tielemans 17/18 - Diabate 16/17 - Ndidi, Wague 15/16 - Amartey, Grey We don’t really entertain it. We only did business in 2023 I think to try and avoid relegation. That was a disaster. 5
