I rate him, a classy player and would sit really well in the base of our midfield. I wonder why he hasn't been picked up yet.

I'm shocked we've not just paid the £5m or so it would take to get a striker of real quality in. A decent #9 could easily be the difference between top 2 and 14th, and if we only sign Bristric, I don't think we go up. I agree in terms of strikers, last time we were here we had Fryatt and Howard. However, who would be available for £5m and is quality? I also don’t believe we have any money for that either.
Popular Post Ric Flair Posted 10 August Popular Post Posted 10 August John Souttar as a ball playing CB is a terrifying prospect. I really dislike how influential Martin is on transfers this summer, he should have a say but not solely his decision which many of these signings clearly are just from his demands. 7

It’s the same with Archie Collins I do wonder if deals in principle are in place but subject to moving certain players out. Edited 10 August by Claudio Fannieri 1
AKCJ Posted 10 August Posted 10 August For what it's worth, these are my predictions... I think we'll sell Page and Souttar with Faes and Coulibaly going late in the window on loan. That would leave us with the following options for Martin's system; Goalkeeper; Stolarcyzk, McCarthy, Ravizzoli Right Back; Joseph, Aluko Centre Half; Okoli, Gray Left back; McFarlane, Thomas Base of Midfield; Skipp, Hamza Number 8; Braybrooke Right Winger; Burns, Alves, BDCR Attacking Midfielder; Chaplin, Cullen Left Winger; Watson, Mavididi Striker; Bristric That's a squad of 20. We'd need to add two centre backs, two centre midfielders and one striker to get a full team. I suspect that centre halves will be the massive priority this week once Bristric is in. 1

Yeah very strange that they're still without clubs. Both would get decent game time here I reckon. 1

Yeah I worry that we'll go after Souttar. I don't rate him, let alone for a team that wants their centre halves to have the ball at their feet. 1

I haven't done any research particularly but when you think Tolaj and Ballard went for less than this, there has to be many of that ilk across Europe. I'd have taken a punt on someone prolific from a league two outfit or conference. Better than square pegs in round holes we may see if we don't get two competent 9s in. Regarding budget, take your point but this search has been dragging on for years and years. If 4-5m is the difference between a much increased chance of promotion, they've gotta scrape it together imo. I suppose the linked striker ATM fits this bill to a degree but I think he's more risky than someone already familiar with English football, be that league two even. Edited 10 August by LCFCCHRIS

Cant imagine what him and his family are going through. would be surprised if he moved.

Tuna Posted 11 August Posted 11 August With Bristric now in, we really need a centre back for the start of the season next.
dmayne7 Posted 11 August Posted 11 August Even with Aah Bisto in, we're still in desperate need of at least 1 other striker, maybe 2. Hopefully we start getting linked to more
FrankieADZ Posted 11 August Posted 11 August 1 hour ago, Tuna said: With Bristric now in, we really need a centre back for the start of the season next. and a fox in the box/on the shoulder Striker too imo also John Souttar isnt the answer for a ball playing cb, be easier to give Kevon Gray a go
LestaLad Posted 11 August Posted 11 August Really surprising we haven’t gone for Archie Collins. But then again, if we can’t move on Skipp and Choudhury then it doesn’t make much sense. I would’ve really liked Davis Keillor Dunn too - shame that link went quiet.
