Depends what you're after?

Skipp is a good 6, he isn't a good 8/10. He won't find that final pass or carry the ball, but he'll break play up and be a little shit to play against. Whereas Page always wants the ball and can carry it well

I think with the extra attacking talent we just bought in , and playing away from home, we should be ok with  a more defensive minded person in that position..

Doesn't that logic apply to every single transfer on the planet then? Since somebody is always the first to 'unearth' a player?

im suggesting Glover didnt unearth Richards and Mukasa as in discover them playing sunday league.

to answer your question...yes.

but that is not the point i was making:wes:

Don’t recall Kaebi (one tackle on Figo) or Amartey (one sprint of the pitch) being anything like the video of Mukasa TBF

I mean I was the first to jump on that Karbi video (as I’m about to on this one)  but tbf to Kaebi it was at a World Cup not an under 18s/21s games where you can hit areas far easier than you can in the championship. And that’s all he’s doing, hitting areas, looks good when it comes off but if you think he’ll spread 50 yard balls to Abdul and Stephi with any consistency you are gravely, gravely mistaken.

YouTube vidoes are a waste of time.

I watched a reasonable amount of his open place as opposed to just reels on YouTube and it's not the flashy stuff that made him stand out it was his consistent movement, constantly dropping in to pockets to find space and get on the ball and keep it moving.

We'll see how he gets on and I do hope he does well as we are at serious risk of going down, but it's a totally different ball game playing regularly at this level, in this team in particular, over any period of time.

Any video of academy football is not worth the paper it's written on, the only Manchester City U21's game result I can remember seeing this season is them getting a 4-1 hiding against Rotherham. Who play in the same league as Doncaster, Doncaster's Under 18's got beat 3-1 by Ashby Ivanhoe's first team. Pretty sure anyone (Luke Thomas included) Could be made to look good by putting together youth team clips. Or even full games. Levels.

In terms of immediate effect, I am not sold on the idea, at all.

You've got a team one point above us signing a lad with 31 England caps on loan, and who got Patrick Bamford in on 2 month short term deal to prove himself and went on to score 6 in 13 for them, that's the kind of business that'll do you well in this division.

I'm all for investing in youth but apparently I keep being told we have enough of our own and we should be focusing on our own anyway, he'll be going back and is here to make an immediate impact, I just doubt he will.

That’s why the first words of the post were “not at a high level”….

No they were "don't reacall" (in regards to Kaebi) "being anything like Musaka"

I mean in a way you were very correct.

Was reading up earlier on him, Pep rates very highly as do some of the youth coaches who have produced some amazingly talented players

“Divine played unbelievable, he’s an incredibly top player in the pockets, he had two or three chances to score," gushed Guardiola after he started as striker in the league cup.

Got a second half hatrick as captain for the under 19s against Bayern Leverkusen in November

Chances of signing him on a permanent deal?

Fabrizio in one of his tweets mentioned it was an initial loan, although sadly I think he just sometimes struggles with translations

no chance of a permanent signing.

he could be our saviour this season though.

Signed new deal before he left, no chance he’s available

Maybe protecting his value.  It's a vast difference between where we're at and Man City.  If they want to keep, could at least get another season out of him!

Possibly but they sell nothing youngsters for 20m. I don’t think there’s any world in which we are in the race if he has a good season with us.

Yeah, I suppose if you don't make it at Man City you can still Oscar Bobb it.
