This is true, Hinckley got the closest but went to the wall. I guess Coalville are the best bet right now in terms of potential - Anstey is a lot of fun but their ground and location is a bit of a nightmare if they ever wanted to expand.

Always baffled me that Loughborough in particular have nothing bigger than Dynamo (and nah, the Uni club doesn't really count). Quorn has been their de facto club for a while I guess.

Especially when they used to have a team in the league as early as....

By all accounts, Fosse v The Luffs was a tasty local derby!

And the thoughts of a Loughborough team playing Liverpool, Man City and Newcastle Utd sounds great ...

A nice adage. but considering Leicester is the biggest ‘residential area’ in the County and also the ‘capital’, we do require a club that has Leicester in its name.

They won’t get liquidated though as someone will buy us.

There is Leicester Nirvana they play in the United Counties South, also Leicester United though I'm not got a clue what level they play at think its very low level. Best way forward is that look at possible merger look for great suitable venue for the club to able to attract the big crowds as suggested before Leicester Road stadium in Hinckley maybe a good start off home. The non league grounds within Leicester ain't greatest sadly.

I know this forum is renowned for having the most negative fans in our fan base but this HAS to be the cherry on top!

I don't think I need to remind anyone that we signed Skipp for over 20m last season, we're not exactly been strapped for cash in the grander scheme of things - yes the clubs finances have been mismanaged for a number of years but I imagine we have the biggest income of any Championship club (not profit).

Listen, it's been shit for a few years but we're not being punished for having no money, we're being punished for spending too much money! Look at Sheffield Wednesday and realise it's not THAT bad at Leicester.

It’s baffled me forever, that as a county we’ve never really had a successful club in the county.

How many other cities in England with a population as big as Leicester, have never had two professional league teams?

Wakefield is the biggest I think.

Yeah i think it is, only about 10 miles from leeds though.  It is strange that we've never had another club thats really come close to professional football.  As far as I know Leicester United (enderby), Hinckley and Shepshed Charterhouse all came within 2 divisions of the football league.

The Leicester Tigers are easily the equivalent of a very decent League 2 club.(Atl least)

It maybe a different sport and I know a fair fee watch both teams, but they still provide competition for bums on seats.Even more so at times like these.

it’s no surprise that the obvious big one club city (Leeds) also have the Rhinos

The Wakefield thing is a bit of a myth.Wakefield MB takes in several other towns like Castleford and Pontefract. You don’t claim to be from Wakefield if you’re from Pontefract for example.

When the fourth tier had no relegation and was settled for a time. The smallest town to have a Football League club was Aldershot.Yet if Aldershot Town ever get their league 2 status back,They can claim to be the nearest league club for eight hundred thousand people. That is until Woking get promoted

I can't imagine another fanbase that would care less than ours about having a phoenix club.

This is also how I feel.

Look at the numbers who were bothered to come out and protest or sing up against it all right now.

It would do well to get numbers of 200 IMO. Right now if it’s a protest, you’d better back someone like St Andrews near the ground playing at the same time

Best to see how the situation develops. Leicester has a large fanbase, it might take a while to lift off and issues around where it plays, the name, the starting point in terms of league level but it could easily grow.

AFC Wimbledon get crowds of 8k and took over 20k to Wembley. Any well run, well marketed club related to us could be of real interest to many.

Here are a few things I'd want to see incorporated.

- No KPFC

- No AI slop posters

- Kit to be black with blue sash

- All food and drink in the ground to be local

- Proper tickets

Feel free to add things.
