Ignoring his time at Stoke (basket case club over last few years), he’s got a good record. Appreciate Oxford got rid but feel they aren’t good enough to survive anyway, and he certainly did well last season with them.

To be fair, this sounds just like us.

We need a manager badly and its short term for now so worth a try because King wont make things better (not his fault).

Lots of moaning about Rowett but don’t see many alternatives being suggested.

That's because basically there aren't any - think it's the best we could hope for in our financial situation and league position.

So we’ve spent three weeks scouring the world and come up with Gary Rowett. Wow. We were lucky Barry Rowett was available. I can’t say I’ve followed Barney Rowell’s career too closely, but I’m sure that if Rudders feels Bertie Howell is the man for the job then he must be! The (Andy) King is dead. Long live Bobby Hewitt. 👍

How idling part of the problem? He was put in place to be a bridge between the academy and the First team. Whilst picking up coaching duties. He’s been ****ed over by the club.

Kingy is a nice guy and a great servant to the club. But he was part of the coaching team that sent our team out with the worst, running stats in the league. An unfit and under prepared team with no real game plan.

A set of fairly poor players being allowed to think they are better than what they are.

No hard work instilled into them.He has lost all of the games in his tenure as interim manager. Also he over saw and tactically contributed to one of the worst turn arounds in my life as a supporter

(Since1969).If he had anything about him and felt fooked over by the club he would

quit and blame the useless hierarchy above

him for damaging his club.

The only hope is that it’s a fresh pair of eyes and someone who will ask the simple questions of the team and pull them up on the stupid decisions they make.

An 18 year old loanee in his first start was instinctively playing forward passes into unmarked space ahead. Something our players are unable to use their collective brain cell to try, other than once every 8 games.

No clean slates, playing them because of perceived senior experience or judging them on how they perform in training.  Just watch the games so far.

I’ve watched a few of the training videos, no wonder the wingers think they can skin everyone if they practice all week against our defence.

King might just be part of the same malaise that has permeated all players and staff. He's been involved throughout our worst period maybe ever and has lost four out of four. We can not do any worse than that.

He's also been involved with our best ever period, lest we forget.

You get a bit of a sense of what he's like from these clips from a podcast he used to co-host.

Not sure that link is working but you can find it by searching for BreakingLinesPod on Instagram.

Have skipped through a few videos and I know it's only a podcast but he comes across well - straight talking, common sense, a bit old school. Very different to Cifuentes.

People blaming King, crazy he was brought in to the coaching team to implement the system and tactics the Marti fraud wanted to implement, a guy starting out in coaching isn’t going to turn around and say ‘no **** off mate’ Marti also had his own crap coaching team and the crapness was fully on them.,

But you know Rowett isn’t suitable despite his championship experience?

He’s proven himself to be an average Championship manager, yes. What you’re looking for is managers who haven’t proved that yet, managers who COULD be the next big thing.

Granted we’re an unattractive proposition for established managers now, but not necessarily ones who need to make a name for themselves and have the talent to do so.

If Rowett keeps us up then he’s done his job, but let’s not make the same mistake we made with Shakespeare. We know his ceiling.

The obvious problem is you’d have to be desperate to work with King Power but we all know King Power aren’t going to appoint the right man anyway, so us coming up with a shortlist would just be for fun.

Rowett is noted for improving team defensive solidity and organizing sides to be difficult to beat. Gerrriminnn

Gary Rowett. Most recent managerial record - sacked by Oxford United after 1 win in 10 games.

The future is bright.
