I liked him as a player, saw a lot of him, both for us and for Derby where I had access to someone else’s season ticket (I know…) for a few years whilst he was there. Always worked hard, left it all on the pitch. Here’s hoping he can bring a bit of that out in our players.

I always thought he was a no nonsense, uncomplicated, dedicated player in our defence back then. Hopefully what he said in his interview will bring a better team with more understanding of the way he wants them to play.

The formation he chooses will be key IMO.

I like the straight talking clear communication. I hope this has some impact on the players. He shows a willingness to be pragmatic, not obsessed by playing a style when it doesn’t suit a particular game, set of players or circumstances. First job is becoming hard to beat, we’ve been too easy to beat for so long, it’s got to change quickly.

its got to the point with this squad of ****tards that i dont think it matters who is in charge of them

I can't disagree but I think they need a strong personality to direct them. Neither of his predecessors could do that. Both were bumbling fools.

How long do we give him?

Personally I might start the “Rowett Out” thread if he names Jordan Ayew as a lone striker in his first starting eleven

Good appointment, but 24 days late

Is it?
I’m less than convinced.
Not good enough for Oxford this season but good enough supposedly for us.
Time will tell but imo it’s scrapping the barrel.
It’s where we are now.

Horrific times and an absolutely mental appointment but we are where we are - I personally think he is probably a decent gaffer and a decent bloke but Jesus Christ how the mighty have fallen- please don’t be crap Gary

I'll give Rowett a chance of course, and we could have made worse appointments.
