Has he gone then, now it's the end of the season, or is he contracted to a set date?

End of June apparently

Just seen his post match quote Lcfc just posted and not sure what’s worse: the fact he’s said it or the fact our social media team have posted it.

”In a season where we all feel a little bit like we’ve let everyone down…”

A little bit??  Get the f out.

Get rid.

next years task is monumental. So much expensive deadwood needs shipping out. A brand new team needs coaching and moulding. It has to be promotion at the first time of asking.

the team that brings us up will then need dismantling and most likely the manager moved on too.

Gary Rowett set for Leicester City meeting as next manager hunt truly begins | Leicestershire Live

Gary Rowett set for Leicester City meeting as next manager hunt truly begins
After coming to the end of his short-term contract with the club, Rowett is now due to speak to the hierarchy over his future, and to review his 14 games in charge

Jordan Blackwell

Gary Rowett is due to speak to the Leicester City hierarchy this week with the club now searching for next season’s manager.

Rowett had the 14th and final match of his contract on Saturday as City ended their campaign with a 1-0 win over Blackburn.

He did not hide his desire for the job in League One and said he could be “exactly what the club need” as they prepare for life in the third tier.

He expects to be back into the club this week to discuss his future, but also to review his time in charge and, if he’s not going to take the reins, to help the club ahead of their next step.

“I’ll catch up with the guys next week,” he said after Saturday’s game. “It was important to get the season out of the way. I’m sure I’ll sit down with the club.”

Prior to the game, he said: “When you’ve been here for the games we’ve had, you’d want to help the club in any way they feel is important to them. What the club need off me moving forward, I’ll have those conversations.

“I’ll be available for those discussions, I’ll be available to help in any way I can, whether that’s what I think is required for next season, what I’ve learned in the 14 games, my opinion of them.

“I’ve shared those with people. It’s not as if I’m sat in my office not speaking to anyone. I’m speaking to people all of the time.”

Rowett has been more and more open over what he feels the club need next season, talking of “cultural change” on the pitch, and with a need for players with more physicality and drive, and for a reinvigoration of the club’s underdog spirit.

He said: “A lot of those players won’t be here next season I’m sure. There might be a few who are still here. It’s going to be a great opportunity for the club to rebuild, to reassess what they think is important, to get those cultural bits right.

“That’s going to be very important to get back to that hunger and desire that won the club the Premier League in the first place. How do you find that underdog spirit back into the team?”

What the fvck is the point of having a meeting with him? Tell him to go and get someone else in.
2 wins in 14 is pathetic.
What is there to discuss? How shit he is and his obsession with playing past it players while holding back the youngsters.
Should have got rid once relegation was confirmed.

He is absolutely right on this front btw - I don't think he's the right man for the job, but I hope the board listens to what he has to say rather than just telling Rudkin to crack on.

So he took the job thinking he could succeed, failed and now tells the board why he failed to beat the likes of Sheffield Wednesday. Players are not physical or hungry enough.

Meanwhile the other team he got relegated were trouncing them 4-1 in his absence. Personally I rather take the advice of what they need to progress from someone that has got out the division, rather than than a relegation threatened scrubber that was limited to doing the same thing and playing the same formation for 14 weeks without success

If only he had a little more experience to work with.

Lets hope the meeting is simply an exit interview, and to hand his laptop back.

He can get back to his favourite hobby of relegating Championship clubs next season.

from watching Rowett over the years, I don’t believe we saw him being himself.

maybe he tried to get into them early on and it went badly

maybe he was told he couldn’t get into them

Whatever the reason it’s odd.

add to that the club have never seemed particularly bothered about being relegated.  Was that was false pride ?
just seems odd all round.

Or the bloke’s interest in management has completely disappeared and this was one last job (that’s been mentioned to me)

He mentioned getting into more strategy roles on the 2nd tier podcast.

The bloke before that was a lad so desperate who had seen Barcelona play once and literally had to pay his own compensation, even though him leaving probably did QPR a favour. Whatever happens we can be sure our Jon has somebody even more inept wating in the wings, maybe ready to sign mid July.

He was hired to do firefighting job with a bunch of players who are checked out, disinterested and bereft of confidence. To be clear he should NOT get the job for next season, I agree that he should have done better with the games we had, but I think the main reason we got relegated is because of a) the boards utter mismanagement of this club over the last few years and b) the players who simply don't want to be here. I doubt any manager could have got much more out of these absolute freeloaders, and I can't wait to see the back of the overwhelming majority of them, as I suspect do most fans.

BUT Rowett is bang on when he says that we need to use this as a chance to have a cultural reset and rediscover our identity - and we can't leave that down to Top and Rudkin who just bury their heads in the sand, make the same mistakes over and over again, with no real clue what they want to do, or how to achieve it.

I don't think they should just implement whatever Rowett says - but if he comes in and tells them we need to build a hungry squad, ditch the high wages and the egos, rebuild the underdog spirit that we had under Pearson, then they need to hear that. This is probably the only time they will hear someone with an actual football background tell them how it is - I doubt they are seeking out opinions on how they can do things differently, simply because Top and Rudkin have never taken responsibility for anything that has happened to this club, unless it's positive.

Does your scenario work in the real world?

Professional courtesy, perhaps?

Ruud said the same. Marti was baning on about it a lot, and seemed to be working hard on it whilst trying to be pragmatic.

Rowett isnt saying anything new here. If the management team wanted to listen, they would have had plenty of feedback by now.

Not convinced Rowett is the king of club cultural identity anyway.
