Jamie Vardy had stayed for one more year.

How much of a difference would a proper striker have made for us? Were we always doomed this season, or could one quality forward have made all the difference?

im torn on this one because we generally haven’t created much and Vardy isn’t the sort to create his own chances.

obviously we’d be better off but I’m curious if we have anyone that thinks promotion would have been attainable?

Vardy turned okish passes into great chances. We look less creative because Ayew and Daka have no nouse between them.

Hmm…

well our problem this season hasn’t been  scoring goals, it’s been conceding them. I don’t see it as us scoring the goals we Have scored AND Jamie scoring a bunch aswell, I think instead of some of his wonder goals, Abdul might have felt pressured to pass to Vardy… some of those passes to JJ might have gone to Jamie too..  take 3 away from JJ and Abdul to Jamie, maybe another 3-4 for Jamie … all for about 100k a week? It might have  put us further into financial difficulty for very little practical gain. The problem wasn’t so much losing Jamie but choosing not to replace him. That and the 6 point deduction..

For a team that hasn't " created much" we've scored an awful lot of goals

We wouldnt be challenging with the defence that we have. Clean sheets are the basis of any successful team

Proof is out there though. We have one of the worst xgs in the league, we just have players capable of very good finishing.

I think the bigger mistake was selling Kasper.

100 percent. Dont believe for one minute we would of gone down with him still in goal. More so for his influence then his actual goal keeping ability. At the time it seemed like the right time for a change. Looking back it definetley was a mistake

The trouble with the club is at senior management level which reflects on the team on the pitch. Don’t see one player changing the mess we are in.

Seeing as he would've been more useful in front of goal, more useful to the team functioning, (even if he wasn't scoring) and with his presence around the training ground being a lift, I'd imagine he'd help this lot up to 20th.

I'd be interested to know how many goals we have scored that were inside the box. as we do seem to score a disproportionate amount of wonder goals & individual brilliance rather than good team play.

Defo would have more goals for sure. Some sitter our current strikers (if you can call em that) have missed Vardy would be potting them in likes he primer stephen hendry.

The problem this season has not been chance conversion. We don't create much for a 9. He'd have been feeding off scraps, which he is good at. Or was.

Yeah I agree but when ever we did create something the strikers have just not been good enough.  The fact that we have 3 midfield score more goals than a Ayew or Daka is really poor.
