I'd imagine that he would also have decent relationships with prem clubs who need to loan players out too. Could be the right manager at the right time. Carsley has been at the KP a few times. I think even this season. I think this is a solid shout, and it’s probably at a level where everyone could be willing to take a risk. Especially if the remit is to promote youth. I’d buy into it for sure. 1
LVFox Posted 27 April Posted 27 April (edited) Randomly stumbled on this, when looking into unemployed managers - https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/sport/football/aberdeen-fc/6957179/ex-aberdeen-boss-jimmy-thelin-misses-out-leicester-city-job/#:~:text=Former Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin, with Marti Cifuentes last month. started like a house on fire at Aberdeen before it all went abit sour…but knowing our club, if he was on a shortlist before, he will be on it again. i wouldn’t be shocked if we looked at Wilfried Nancy either Edited 27 April by LVFox
teblin Posted 27 April Posted 27 April Carsley I would be on board with. Be surprised if he wanted it. 2

No u21 tournament for england this summer so would be available to get stuck in straight away. 1

Gazza M Posted 28 April Posted 28 April Carsley is not dropping to league 1 to manage this lot. He managed the England senior team only just over a year ago. His pedigree is much higher. He would take most Championship jobs available and could even get a gig at Prem level for bottom half club struggling. 2

The idea of Martin or Carsley managing us makes me shiver

Not having that at all - he would be lucky to get a sniff of our job - never managed a league team and did an fa job for a couple of games for England - not getting a prem job in a billion years - champ maybe but he is a midlands boy and ours might suit - it’s not a normal league 1 job is it - he might like the idea of the kids - probably already knows a good bit about a few - saying that I’d take him over quite a few others 4
teblin Posted 28 April Posted 28 April (edited) If Davies leaves Brum we'll be looking at him. I think I'd prefer Martin over him, but not sure to be honest. Don't really want either. Actually update here, they are 10th so not bad for a newly promoted team but they have spent money. Edited 28 April by teblin
Foxdiamond Posted 28 April Posted 28 April Is there any indication that Carsley is even interested in going back to club management. Something he hasn't done for years and then only for short spells. Got a nice little gig coaching the England youngsters without the stress of club football

RowlattsFox Posted 28 April Posted 28 April Assume it's agent led if there are truth in it because I don't believe we've sounded him out as an option
RowlattsFox Posted 28 April Posted 28 April Can't wait to have Vestergaard at the back with this guy 4
