The only books we have are for 2024-25. Despite the hefty accounting loss reported for that period last month, we have not been charged for breaching PSR for 24/25 and there doesn’t seem to be any expectation that we will be. We have no idea what this year’s accounts are like or whether we’re likely to breach PSR for 2025/26. From 1 July we’ll move from the PSR regime to the SCMP regime, which works differently. I’m not convinced we’ve taken on a new loan to fund this £10m kitty as we’ve already flogged our last parachute payment to Macquarie and I can’t see anybody else extending a new line of credit to us. Is it possible that the club has looked at our situation re: PSR this season and/or SCMP next season and calculated we can spend that much before any player sales and stay within the rules? I don’t know, but I also don’t feel there is enough information to definitively rule it out. Presumably we still need to comply with PSR though? Although It doesn't exist in league 1, the wage bill is limited to 70% of revenue for relegated clubs. If we're promoted back to the championship then I expect we'll be back under the PSR rules. The last 3 year accounts and the £71 million loss for 24/25 will come into play then. At some point this board will have to stop spending, there is no escape from our losses. Edited 3 May by trooky

To me, looks like you are an eternal optimist and post *anything* that sounds vaguely positive. Unfortunately lived experience has been the polar opposite Back in the real world, still playing PL wages for sh1t players in League One, with the most inept leadership in football history and dire financial times for KP. Hope I'm wrong though, and you are right! I should have perhaps made it clear that I don’t believe the Alan Nixon transfer kitty story (I think it‘s safer not to believe any of his stories until proven otherwise). My point was more a general one about the unknowability of our precise financial situation (and therefore leeway in the transfer market) because of the huge lag between the end of our financial year and the publication of that year’s accounts. All we know at present is that we lost £70m during our 24/25 season in the PL but apparently did not breach PSR. We won’t know our results for the current season until next April, but in our last Championship season we lost around £19m but DID end up breaching PSR. There’s a lot of speculation about our cost base remaining that of a PL club but nobody outside of the club actually knows what it really is. To what extent have relegation clauses slashed our wage bill this season and will do so again next season? Until we know the answers to these questions it’s all guesswork, as you say.

And to be clear also, I am assuming that *even with contractually-allowed reductions in salaries due to two relegations* we are STILL paying PL wages to sh1t players. We're that level of f****d up Put it another way: I doubt there's hardly a player on a normal Championship salary, let alone L1! If and when we see the L1 accounts it'll be quite an eye opener! They were definitely a classic case of the season after syndrome of missing out on the play offs promotion the season before - much like Walsall in the league below Leyton O. this season!

I think he’s got a bit of an unfair gig in his managerial career. Did a very good job at Man U and got respect from a room full of massive ego’s. Plays nice attacking football too. 1

winteriscoming Posted 4 May Posted 4 May Forget Fuchs and Wellens if we want an ex player in as manager we should go for Tom Cleverley.

Targeting ex-players for the sake of it would be stupid. The fact that they played for shouldn’t even be a consideration when deciding whether they’re right for the job.

I’d rather we wouldn’t go down that route but I’m just pointing out that Cleverley imo is better option than the other 2. 1

Brizzle Fox Posted 4 May Posted 4 May (edited) If someone could post a list of out of work managers who are also Wasserman clients, then that at least would give us a realistic starter for ten for this conversation? Edited 4 May by Brizzle Fox 1

O'Neil - isn't he still Strasbourg manager? Rosenior - will be updating his LinkedIn profile all summer. Critchley - never heard of him so Top and Rudkin certainly won't have heard of him either. Also Google says he's at Strasbourg as well. Schumacher - isn't he at Bolton? So Andy King it is then.
