damolcfc Posted 16 April Posted 16 April Hopefully we bin this 4321 boll ox , listening to talksport last night and they said it too... that teams that continually (like Tottenham) pass the ball round the back, trying to play pretty football, gives the opposition so much time to watch the play and sit comfortably waiting for a chance to break. And it's 100% right. We make it so bloody easy, but the last 5 coaches keep at it with the same tried and tested players. And then we have the attacking power houses who get to the final 1/3 and shit themselves and panic, and then try and place the ball against some defenders arse. 3
Edingleyfox Posted 16 April Posted 16 April If James and Ramsey come in to start could have a decent midfield.i just think Leicester will either concede early in the intimidating atmosphere or run out of steam. My guess is 2 1 in favour of Portsmouth think it will be close 1

FoxesTalker Posted 16 April Posted 16 April This is exactly the type of game we'll lose, and that's not just based on this season. The 4-1 defeat to QPR in December could be repeated here.
SK3Blue Posted 16 April Posted 16 April No chance they win this, even if James and Ramsey are available, they’ll have their minutes managed. Reid will come in for Mukasa, back four just about picks itself due to injuries. Another battering. 1
teblin Posted 16 April Posted 16 April I agree with everyone, I can't see these guys getting a result based on any logic or hope. I think my history of support Leicester also says in the back of my mind "expect the unexpected" and we could win 4 out of 4 and say what were you worried about. But there is no evidence at all to point to that happening. The great escape season, we were unlucky in a lot of games and weren't far off. (also we had good players) Pompy 3 - 1 LCFC League 1 Beckons. Not sure if this is the place to put it, if when we go down I want it to be more that 6 points so the ownership can't blame that. 1

jim5000 Posted 16 April Posted 16 April How is a squad designed for a relegation battle? Is he basically just saying we are mentally weak? That is an issue whether you are in a relegation battle or not. 4

It's a really slow realisation that this style isn't some genius tactic. Even Man City don't do it like that now. 1

My guess is 2 1 in favour of Portsmouth think it will be close Though not 100% clear, Rowett's press conference comments suggest neither James nor Ramsey will start, though both might be on the bench. I can imagine us adopting an ultra-defensive approach, perhaps with Choudhury introduced in defensive midfield? Maybe hoping to stay in the game and/or hoping Daka manages to score on a counter-attack or Fatawu hits the target with a long shot - introducing James and/or Ramsey if the match is still in play with 20 minutes left? I can't pretend to be optimistic, regardless of his tactical approach. Hope I'm proved wrong, but why would a side that has repeatedly buckled under the slightest pressure suddenly show great resilience under even greater pressure? There's always the luck factor, I suppose....but that really is the last refuge of the dreamer...
HankMarvin Posted 16 April Posted 16 April Could’ve been a used car salesman, had loads of excuses when Oxford pumped him. “Not designed for a relegation battle” Nelson has looked a car crash, and looked better at Oxford. Under his stewardship, we have only slightly improved defensively goals per game, yet goals scored per game is down nearly 30 percent. What a change since he said “Embrace the challenge” I’m really excited to be at a club that has certainly got the structure to push on, kick on and start to improve results,” the Bromsgrove-born manager began, speaking in the King Power Centre. “Everyone knows the situation that the team are in and why they are there as well. “It’s important that we tackle that, we take that on board, but I’ve been in the Championship for a long time, I know the division and I’ve been in these positions before. “It’s also giving the players a clear and direct route out of it and what we need to do to improve results and try and start climbing the table and all feel better about where we are. It’s wanting to tackle these 14 games really positively and try and find a few of the missing pieces. “Hopefully we can give everyone, including the fans, a really strong end to the season, with a team you are proud of and want to see on the football pitch, a team that gives everything and wants to dig in and hurt when it needs to and suffer when it needs to. “Also, we know we can play some good football and control games as well. It’s finding the balance of what we need to do and it’s meeting that challenge head on.”

5waller5 Posted 16 April Posted 16 April I think I might have to self refer myself somewhere - I’m actually quite looking forward to this!!

adam Posted 16 April Posted 16 April James doesn't fancy it does he. Can't he play through a sore ****ing heel. We're in the shit here and if you're fit enough for the bench I'm sure you can start.

We're down, he's on loan and he's aggravated an injury ince already - he'd only jeopardise a move to a non-shit heap 1

Tomo260 Posted 16 April Posted 16 April I don't care if we win or lose. Top has sucked the passion out of the club and fans entirely
