Technically our worst season was 1990-1991 with 50 points in a 2nd tier season with 3 points for a win, and i CBA to go through the thread as i pointed it out on here last week. We stayed up on a sheer technicality because only two teams went down as a one-off due to the league structure changing. Cheers Tony James, I guess.

That said, I also mentioned in that thread that KPFC types will use the points deduction as an asterisk if we go down within the six point margin. That is irrelevant if we fail to gain three points between now and the end of the season - even in 'fair play' we can now only match our 07-08 season.

That’s the lowest finish, not the worst season. ‘Worst’ is subjective but I’d say unprecedented failure and lack of entertainment value relative to the division makes it quite obviously the worst.

It’s definitely the most hateful Leicester team of all time, and none of the regular players or managers should ever be forgiven.

Ironic also that there was more toxicity to the team in 2008 than now. I remember that sheff wed defeat in 2008. People were running down the stairs fvcking raging, angry, abusive.

They cared. Now the sheep seem to think it's all good and gravy, all part of the journey etc etc

Just don't go to the football anymore – unless this useless club regime, poor manager and this atrocious first team is gone for good.

Boycott the last three matches.

If you still decide to go, make your frustration heard.

Chant Top and Rudkin out of the stadium, boo the players, hold them accountable before and after the matches.

Worst season in the club's history. Not even in 2008 did we cave in this easily.

The squad back then had fighting spirit – and one of the best defensive records in the entire league.

This lot is overpaid and has massively underperformed. They are a disgrace for football in general.

I know it might hurt.
i know you might have second thoughts.

I know friends and family members might want to tell you otherwise.

Stay strong, resist the urge, and don't put any more money into this lifeless shell of what once was greatness.

There's a life out there outside of LCFC. Support your local club, go hiking, enjoy nature, you name it.

You know it makes sense.

I'm at the point where I just want the season to be over. There's no point holding onto hope that we will escape the drop. I want something to get excited about - the reality of dropping into League One is a sword of Damocles hanging over us - its inevitable. Would rather forfeit the remaining games and just start thinking about the summer rebuild early. I just can't keep watching these sorry performances.

The beatings will continue until morale improves

Sums the season when fans are fighting amongst themselves. Fighting to get out the ground first.

Got to beat that traffic!

Will still be the same team on Tuesday.

I really hope the entire squad put in transfer requests and somebody else is stupid enough to sign them.

Winks will get his wish and end back down south either QPR or Southampton will be stupid to sign him.

Fair point. Before my time, but even with the ‘technicality’ how the heck did that side stay up with 24 defeats, three more than anyone else in the division?

....and the person who is largely responsible for all of this is promoted.....it's beyond a joke.

Football has changed, it’s an afternoon out now for the family.

In england anyway.  But maybe that's not a bad thing given where we were in the 80's.

Sorry mate there are lots of better words you can use - eg bellend, dickhead.

Frustrating day but there's never a right time to use that word as a criticism.

This relegation is happening in the most apt fashion. A limp, lifeless surrender. I'm glad there won't be a "heroic" or "heartbreaking" demise on the last day- this is how it should be played out. 22nd place without the points deduction, one of the worst teams at this level.

Pathetic team representing a pathetic club.

Spot on.
I’ve been supporting since the late 1970’s and have never felt such a disconnection with the club.
It’s absolutely horrendous, and it hurts to agree with you when you say it’s a pathetic club, but it’s true.
Nobody is accountable, except the managers of course.
There should be apologies and answers to why this has been allowed to happen.

In 1914/15, Leicester Fosse ended 2nd from bottom of England's leagues. Right now,  the club is 50th from the bottom.

In 1939/40, Leicester City gained only 4 points.

The phrase 'worst season in our history' can be interpreted in lots of different ways!

Yes to the regime, absolutely, 100%. Boycotting is probably the only thing, short of rioting, that might have an impact.

But not going because the manager and/or team are crap? That's just fickle fairweather fan stuff, so leave that out. That's not why I don't want to give the club my money. The ownership is.

I’d love to know how many of the players privately think going down will enable them to make a quick getaway. Because it’s very evident that is what’s going on. So little effort or urgency today.

These players - particularly the ones signed to compete in Europe and PL - are a total and utter disgrace. For the remaining 3 games I don’t want to see any of them ever again, even if that means playing 16 year old lads we’ve not heard of.

I'll make a case for last season being even worse. We had a last chance to take decisions that would put the club on a firmer footing - even if it made relegation likely. Instead...

Easily the worst at least when West Country willy puller was in charge it went to the last game and we had a bit of fight including Steve Howard’s hat trick at West Brom! This year we have had nothing and it has been proper dogshit!

I can only think it’s because none of those clapping now and defending the ownership etc were around in 2008.

It's fascinating to think of. It does feel like sportswashing to me where they have been brainwashed into thinking that we've been 'saved' by these owners or whatnot. They've really done a number on our fanbase.

There must be some sort of psychological trick they've played somewhere along the line.

Maybe crowds have just changed that much in that time.

Surely the season we won League One is technically the worst in our history?

I was going to post the same. Agree that this is subjectively our worst season but going by the logic of the OP you're right, it'd technically be 08/09.
