He spent most of the interview waffling about "young players bringing us energy" and "there's a real energy about the place at Seagrave"

He's thoroughly bought in to the Russell Martin way of thinking ffs

So why has Russell opted for more experience?

Martin was their plan all along. They just brought someone in who'd play ball.

He's everything I expected. Another fraud who needs out. Glover needs to go as well.

Exactly.

How could the managerial appointment be the most important priority and then end up being a guy the incumbents were already wanting to appoint?!

He’s simply a yes man and what’s the point in having a Sporting Director if you then let the manager just sign all his old mates or you bring in Wes Burns because he’s good mates with Chaplin?

Waste of a wage at a time when the club can’t afford to pay people unnecessarily. It was always just a way to look like doing something without fixing the real problem of Rudkin.

Scary interview….

this tied with Martin I don’t see how we stay up and not getting promotion this year probably means liquidation

Vid from 1.45-2.45 is insanity

That’s wild. And you could just imagine it’s the kind of thing that’s being said behind closed doors when Martin’s reeling off stats about the number of shots the team has had when he’s engaging with a fan.

I'm not sure why your surprised by this?

Rudkin and Top aren't goint to employ anyone who contradicts their vision for the club.

He's here to recruit players for the Topkin philosophy of slow laborious possession based football.

Nothing will change untill King Power and Rudkin go.

Walked past him at Barnsley away. Looked like many a middle management consultant wet wipe I’ve seen throughout my career. I’m sure he spends most of his day saying yes and being as unaccountable as possible.

It just seems to me that the club hierarchy have put far too much faith in Martin not just his style of play but the signings of new players many on 3+ year contracts. Can anyone say that the squad is much stronger with the exception of Emil Riis and several

players have been really disappointing.A lot of this is not on McCarron but I wonder how much discussion has gone on in private about a plan B if results don’t improve after say 10 games.

At times, it feels like the priority is for them to prove that their ideas were right all along, rather than doing whatever is best for the club. If they can't sack this manager now - because of their defiance in appointing him, or their bullishness in interviews this week - then that really would underline everything that's wrong with the club.

None of their internal reviews seem to address this core issue that you can't run a club in a way which disregards its identity. Their ongoing trope that we were practically a non-entity before they turned up is hardly going to help either. It all smacks of a massive disrespect for the club and its culture. And that shows with the general feeling of disengagement among fans too.

I listened to his interview with an open mind.

I thought he actually sounded like he had a few brain cells, unlike Rudkin.

We all thought that his transfer business was good. A lot of deadwood cleared. Some good (on the face of it at least) signings.

However, he seems to be completely and utterly wedded to Russell Martin and his turgid style of play. Huge red flag unfortunately.

Sorry did we all think his transfer business was good? I thought it was honking? People gave him far too much credit. Old Crocked players who turns out are not leaders.

So essentially as long as McCarron is here we are in massive trouble. We are not going to sack Martin because McCarron is absolutely wedded to this style, and Martin is the best candidate that would come to us that plays this style. So unless someone like Thiago Motta has a fall and hits his head, we are stuck with Martin until it's too late, and then we will take a punt on a random manager nobody has ever heard of from an obscure league in Europe because he plays this system.

It really feels like our only hope is someone is stupid enough to buy us, yet intelligent enough to kick these frauds out.

Never seen this before. The way this guy talks reminds me of 90% of the corporate D*ckheads you see on LinkedIn.

He will be wedded to Martin. The links are obvious.

Jason Wilcox appointed Russell Martin to Southampton. The same summer Joe Shields arrived from Manchester City. Wilcox from the City Group too.

Who worked under Wilcox and Shields at City Group? Our good man James

All a big ****ing clique

My main disappointment isn’t actually signings. It’s that we haven’t appeared to implement any strength and conditioning changes which is his background and strength. Players still look lazy and knackered after an hour.

No changes at all to that team, either sackings or appointments, no sports science etc brought in yet

Our sports scientist is Barbara  behind the food counter at Seagrave, her reply to fitness is "do you want peas or beans with that".
