With three quarters of our first choice defence being signed or making their debut in the Premier League.

Fun fact. Okoli’s current transfer value is £2m higher than Burton Albion’s entire squad.

But then what can Martin do? Huddersfield are top of the league and beat bottom of the league Wigan with 49% possession yesterday. How can he compete when the league is fundamentally broken?

You just know Wednesday are going to sack Pedersen (while they're sat comfortably ahead of us) and go and get Challinor, while we let this idiot piss our season away.

lol took less than 24 hours.

I had a look back at the match reports on BBC looking at some of the stats and the opening paragraph of a bunch of the reports had me cracking up. On at least 2 occasions, maybe even 3, it would say 'heaped more pressure on Russell Martin' and then the following game it was 'eased the pressure on Russell Martin'. If that doesn't sum us up, I don't know what does.

Oh, and of course, after their puff piece about him possibly having turned a corner, I don't need to tell you what the opening paragraph says after yesterday's game. F****** brilliant lol

He needed a draw yesterday for me.

We’ll beat Wigan and Stevenage and then drop several points against Blackpool, Huddersfield and Bradford.

Every week he is here is wasting time and prolonging the agony.

He isn’t gonna get us 70pts from the remaining 35 games.

Surely after SWFC sacked their guy, we have to sack our guy?

Its simple common sense, alarm bells should be ringing at Seagrave that a promotion rival is about to have a manager bounce while we're wasting our time with Brussell.

Promotion rival? We’re not set up to compete for promotion I’m afraid. We’re mid table fodder!

Incredible Wednesday have Sacked their manager 😂 they will get Challinor and win the league.

Our boardroom must be blind, deaf and dumb!

Agee.
They are also too arrogant to contemplate going for someone who hasn’t managed above league 1.

You set your team up properly to utilise its strengths. At the moment, Martin merely exposes all of our weaknesses, rather than utilise our strength.

We won't beat Stevenage. Could not be a fixture more built for us to fumble.

To be honest these would've never gone for Challinor anyway. He isn't loosely enough associated to "playing like Man City" for them. Linkedin James will be straight on the phone to Liam Manning or someone of that ilk. Another sterile football pioneer who has come off the back of failure.

Three years in a row we had a pretty obvious candidate to go for in the summer who were available and attainable. Corberan in 2024. Rohl in 2025. Now Challinor. None of them are perfect, but I am pretty certain all of them would've done better than what we actually served up.

Liam Manning would be an absolutely hilarious appointment. He essentially had one look at Alves and binned him last season 😂

Genuine question here..

Why do people think that Challinor would be the saviour?

He knows the lower leagues and has a pretty good record

Dave Challinor is an English football manager born on October 2, 1975, renowned for reaching the playoffs or higher in 15 of his 16 managerial seasons

wouldnt say "done", because we handed 2 goals on a plate to them

he was done by Robbie Savage, today he wasnt "done"

he was shown he needs to actually not pick certain players

We handed them two goals on a plate because they knew all they needed to do was press our CBs slightly, and put the ball in behind the wing backs to get in. They were threatening to absolutely batter us first 30, and only McCarthy stopped it being 3 or 4 by half-time. He got shown up tactically by Wilshere make no bones. They weren't just individual errors, they were errors caused by his tactics exposing weaknesses.

But at least we are playing a brand of football our owner with the football knowledge of a 4 year old wants. The same owner is trying to leave. At least we are doing exactly what he wants. With a scouting network that covers the city of Southampton and one agency.

I don't care for playing style. Long ball, short ball, sky ball, or any other type of new ball.

What is plain and simple. We need proven coach at our level. Not tomorrow's.

I have basuc understandung about football, but I can see within 2mins, that Challinor has incredible win ratio. He has built year on year.

Why can't senior management not see it.
