In mathematics, some corners of linguistics and classical logic, two negatives can make a positive.

In that case there are a truckload of positives.

Why are people always desperate to find positives in things. Sometimes things are just shite. I’m comfortable with how shite Russell Martin and this football club are.

Well not my choice, but...

1. In order to attract someone like RM we must have an excellent budget for L1. Otherwise he wouldn't come here, & would rather take his chances once the season starts & the firings begin in the higher leagues.

2. The players that we bring in at this level should be receptive to his methods. Unlike the dross of recent years who thought they were too big time for our managers of recent past.

3. Has a good record with youth. Which will be vital for us in the coming years - regardless of the leagues we are in.

4. After the shuttle crash at Rangers, will be desperate to succeed.

5. Only 40. A baby in managerial terms. He still has his career ahead of him & plenty of scope for personal development. Let's hope he starts to realise his potential with us.

6. Nice hair & beard (as a beard guy - v important).

7. Missus.

Honestly give his interview on Lineker's podcast a go.

You'll see he's a decent bloke with strong morals. Something we've lacked for a long time.

I want to trust you on this...but *your username*

Genuinely think he's been appointed as a lightning rod to take the ire of the fans off King Power.

Top: Who would the fans hate more than you and me Jon?

Rudkin: Rodgers won't come back... Dennis Wise is too afraid to come within 50 miles of the Leicestershire border.... hmm difficult. Russell Martin's pretty self obsessed and crap won't take the fans long to turn on him?

Top: I love it! Plus he can give me tips on how to grow a full beard. Get it done big Jon

I’ve got 2

After he’s sacked we can look at breaking the World Record for most managers in short space of time.

After he’s sacked we never have to talk about him again.

If he is Leicester manager I’ll have a ropey but maaaaaybe plausible excuse if my wife checks my search history and finds Lucy Pinder’s name in there

Let’s reverse this , imagine you look into your wife’s search history and she’s been looking at topless photos of Russell

He has 2 first names instead of a first name/surname set up. That's always thrilling.

I agree this is actually a big positive that doesn't get talked about enough.

Martin O'Neill is almost 2 first names as is Nigel Pearson so he's in good company.

Apart from Lucy Pinder, there must be some positive's!

Good spells at MK and Swansea and obviously promotion with Southampton.

Bad spell at Rangers.

Everyone seems disappointed with the potential appointment but we have to be realistic, I’m not saying I’m ‘happy’ with the appointment, but not sure there are many realistic appointments that would excite me!

what is this supposed good spell as Swansea? Had a win rate of only 36% there…
