The difference in physical profile was massive yesterday. This is what League 1 is about: size, athleticism,  everyone knowing and doing their jobs and a high level of desire to compete. Our recruitment has once again been crap..

It's not just 2 games. It's a horrific reputation he came with. It's signing his mates who can't play his system either. 

 

Calling for it to continue after what we've seen so far might be less sane than calling for it to stop.

We play with no conviction. There’s no meaning to the way we play, and no clear method or end goal. 
 

Martin has been employed to play in a certain way, but there’s multiple factors hindering this. 
 

1. Culture - the culture within the club is still rotten… we’ve still got Skipp, Okoli and Souttar (I know he hasn’t really played but still)….  And not forgetting Thomas. This culture is leading to players not caring….. not putting in the effort, not wanting to fight for the shirt…. Skipp has been ****ing atrocious, just ambling around the pitch, as has Souttar who clearly doesn’t care and Okoli who saunters around with no substance to him at all… this culture needs exercising out of the club, and the only manager who can do this is a strong willed manager, who will go against the grain and won’t care about upsetting people, and will remove those from the group responsible of allowing this culture to continue. 
 

 

2. Naturally the ownership, this is the major Achilles heel now, they’ve publicly displayed their desire to no longer be in charge, they’re “actively” selling the club…. So there’s no more future planning or desire to improve us…. We’re essentially floating into nothing, we’re drifting with no purpose or vision of where we want to go, the club is completely fractured from top to bottom, and if things remain as they are, we will go into administration, and we will end up folding. King Power have no desire to save the club, they won’t invest any money into it, and if they can’t sell it, we will simply drift into administration and end up in league two. Someone will buy us, but the whole club will essentially be reset, we will essentially be a different club, but I will take it if it means we get our club back, our identity back, and there’s a vision for genuine hope for the future. But this needs to happen. 
 

In the short term we need the right man for the job, this squad is not hat bad, if you remove those who clearly don’t want to be here, even if it means playing vastly inexperienced players and even out of position… but Martin isn’t this man, he never was, he was a lazy appointment because he was free, guaranteed to take the job at the right price, and they know home likes to play football…… but they were in denial, ignoring the fact he’s got lots of red flags, and has proven time and time again under pressure he isn’t any good…. He had an excellent team at Southampton and probably under achieved in all honesty at championship level, but never stood a chance at PL level.
 

He a manager who’s essentially broken and desperate to prove himself but won’t deviate from his philosophy to do so……

 

Unfortunately this is all going one way, any optimism in my opinion is blind, my friends and I, who all gave up our season tickets after 29 years of having them, all think and feel the same, people might want to criticise saying we’re not “proper fans”…. But sticking through good times and bad, is contextual…. Where we are now is unacceptable, having the best part of half a billion quid come through the club in a decade (more than any club at this level has ever had come through their club in their existence), just makes it even worse…… the sheer negligence displayed is unacceptable, even in the face of a tragic family loss, the negligence displayed is unforgivable….. to be beaten by Burton Albion at home sets new lows, and is just the latest “wake up call” in a long line of wake up calls……

 

How many more “wake up calls”, do we need? The club is spiralling towards the ultimate disaster, and you’ve still got people like Graham Brock saying “we’ve been in administration before, so we will be fine again”……

 

I would have thought it’s time to properly rally, forget the Tifo’s and “back the lads” fight for the existence of your club, because as things stand, we won’t have one to follow if nothing changes.  
 

 

In short, bring Big Nige back….

That's a really good point.  I remember some seasons back a manager (it might have been Pearson) being barred by the FA from operating from the bench for a couple of games and having to view it from up in the stands.  He made the comment that the view of the game from that bit higher up was quite enlightening; gave him a different and more profitable angle on proceedings.

100% I’ve said the for years. No chance they can see what’s going on being level with the players. Let be honest though this possession based football isn’t going to get us promoted it’s very boring football and we’ve not very good at it.

Most rugby league coaches watch from the stands, with staff and players pitch side for that reason.

There is no way Russell leaves the touchline where all the cameras are focused on him. In NFL the head coaches have Defensive & Offensive Co-ordinators. They sit in analysis booths high up so they can inform the coach on the sideline what they are seeing through a mic system. Football managers don't do that although I remember Big Sam being mic'd up at Bolton back when he was an innovator.

The decision to have Souttar as captain is just to emphasise how much turbulence he's got to put up with this window when he's sold. 

 

At least that was the aim. Oh look my captains been taken from me. Look what I'm dealing with here. But now he's played so unbelievably shit I'll be surprised if anyone wants him.

Successive managers have failed to motive these Leicester players. Cooper, Van Nistleroy, King, Cifuenties, Rowett. All have had the same players week after week.

Until Russel Martin can play a side contained NOT ONE player from last season's debacle then it is too early to judge.

We need 11 players out there on the pitch chosen by RM (whatever your views on him) that have no influence from last season. At present our defence, apart from right back, is last season through and through.

10 days to the closure of the transfer window. There's a lot to do!!!!!!

I don't think it's always people actively staying, people just happen to still be queuing to get out by the time players come round. Of course there are some sad acts that still clap.

 

I did quickly clap Braybrooke, but that's the difficulty of clapping when you've got people you want to boo next to them

Well Okoli is an absolute beast from a physical perspective...but he was still comfortably the worst player on the pitch yesterday.

 

So theres a bit more in it than just getting more physical players.

 

Desire and work rate are the other two key things we have been missing in our squad since Enzo left, and desperately need to get back

Some on here were easily pleased by offloading Winks/VK (still our player) and paying off Jannik.

 

We’ve had another stinker of a window, Martin bringing in pathetic and feeble 10’s/reserve GK’s as they’re mates.

 

We’ve haven’t been a consistently good side since Ndidi.

 

Kante, Ndidi are modern DM’s that we should have never shied away from.
