We paid 15m on a 5 and half year contract, which roughly mean he has 2.7m amortisation per year. 2 years of his contact left so 2 x 2.7m = 5.4m roughly left. That doesn't included any agent fee etc Edited 8 July by coolhandfox
Popular Post sylofox Posted 8 July Popular Post Posted 8 July We need to keep him unless the profit is huge. He's the only player we have with bollox for a fight. 9

If we trust our recruitment that little this summer that this is correct we may as well just cease to exist. It’s not about profit, it’s about making sure the club can become sustainable to build for the future. Profit is an absolute pipe dream on a player we signed in the Premier League, hasn’t played there since, has had 2 serious long term injuries and now sits in league 1. Edited 8 July by VLC86 1

After the last 5yrs you trust our recruitment? Them and Rudkin fvck up every day they are awake. Personally I would not trust them to buy the correct flavour of crisps if you sent them to the shop. If they did they would over pay. 2

I’d probably trust them even less if it’s clear our agenda is to hand onto players, especially ones who have value despite long term injuries and a high wage bill. Unfortunately this isn’t football manager, he needs to go and be replaced despite the fact he would be our best player.
Popular Post Lambert09 Posted 8 July Popular Post Posted 8 July I know footballs not simple, but if we keep souttar we get promoted. He’s probably the only guy left that we could say that about. having a top quality cb just gives us such a foundation to build around. 7

Cant imagine, after the WC he's had, we'll be able to keep hold of him, I'm afraid

It can be negligible when you're making noticeable profit on someone's book value but when you're talking about only selling someone for a few mil anyway it'll eat a good chunk. 11 hours ago, sylofox said: We need to keep him unless the profit is huge. Buzzell Posted 9 July Posted 9 July Out of all the players we have on the books, he’s the only one I’d be gutted about losing and that’s after seeing him play a couple of games after a massive injury. Just shows you how shit the squad is. 3

Wink84 Posted 10 July Posted 10 July Positive thing is if he isn't wanting to stay, there will be clubs after him and his world cup showing proved his fitness and quality after a long lay off. Shame it hasn't worked out for him here, he's another one that's been completely mismanaged. 1

FoxinNotts Posted 10 July Posted 10 July (edited) He has two years left on his contract. He's just had a great WC Captain of his country Proven his fitness. Even if we 'need his wages off the books', we should value him accordingly. If he wants out, someone has to pay up. If we want £10m for Nelson, I would want £12m for big Harry Edited 10 July by FoxinNotts
ozvaldo Posted 10 July Posted 10 July Give him the armband and a ****-off promotion incentive. Australia still chose him after he barely ran for about a year. So playing in League 1 for one season won’t scupper his international career. 1
HankMarvin Posted 10 July Posted 10 July We should learn our lesson and any players that are not happy should be sold, if it’s true he isn’t content
justfoxes Posted 10 July Posted 10 July So long as he doesn’t take a penalty I’d keep him he showed great skills and passion when he had a chance playing for us !
grth2004 Posted 10 July Posted 10 July Are we looking through rose tinted glasses? He has been brilliant in the World Cup and gutted he not played more for us but hasn’t he been injured through a lot of his time with us ? Don’t blame him for wanting to get out and personally think we should cash in whilst his stock is high. Some players don’t fit in at a club for whatever reason and I fear he’s one of those for us although I’m a fan of his at the same time.
