Belgium celebrating by mimicking Trumps dance 🤣

Needed this after the tough loss the other night.

GG England, please beat Argentina if you play them.

People keep slagging us(Canada), but we are man per man better than that Mexico side. How many of their players are playing at Bayern or Juve?

They talk about Jimenez like he's world class, but he'd be sitting on our bench with Cyle f**king Larin lol

Mexico had their home circus and that's it.

Lmao this is hilarious. Please win 1 meaningful game and then pop off.

Funny that againt Senegal we were all saying how boring and dreadful Belgium were, but everyone was behind them last night 🤣.

Not saw the highlights yet, but US hit a semi decent European team and get found out.

Spain should run over Belgium over the weekend.

I can't believe how easy our goals were to score to be honest. Free header and a simple one two. Thought they'd be pretty solid as they hadn't conceded a goal in the tournament beforehand

We hadn’t been punched in the mouth all tournament and the first goal rattled us, which led to your second goal. Can’t do that against more talented teams at this stage.

I respectfully disagree. Canada have some good individuals in Alphonso Davies and Jonathan David, but as a collective Mexico are a notably better side, and with Mora their future looks pretty bright.

There isn’t much in it these days though, Canada have come on significantly in recent years. That said, there is still a big gap between Canada and Mexico in the FIFA and ELO (which is imo superior) world rankings.

Jiminez is getting on a bit, but is a significantly better player than Larin, I would probably start David over him, but Jiminez has had more of an impact on this tournament than David.

Where’s the red button player choice thingy, Bruno close ups please :P

Was he playing? 😃

Portugal were very disappointing, considering the players they've got.

Racking my brains to try and remember  the last England game which made me feel like that. Argentina in 98 maybe?

It's in the same category as the Colombia game in 2018, 5-1 against Germany and the Argentina friendly in Geneva.

Anyone find BBC punditry more of a tough watch than usual in this tournament?

I think this has been the first time that ITV have completely outclassed the BBC at a tournament. They have ****ed up by not travelling to the States because every major pundit is out there.

Having said that, Joe Hart has been so good.

I dunno.

ITV presenters and pundits are sat in New York miles away from all the games. How is that any different to sitting in any studio any where in the world? BBC have public funds and opinions to think about too, not just a massive US jolly. All the commentary teams are out there at the stadiums for the BBC so for me it makes zero difference.

I was at that game in Geneva. Never would you have believed it was a friendly and not a late stage tournemant game. The atmosphere and celebrations when Owen got the winner were insane.

Look at the people that ITV are putting on their punditry teams versus the BBC.

I'm not suggesting it should just be a jolly but the BBC have always been in the host country for a World Cup in the past and they have offices in New York. The BBC could easily pay for it by dropping the miserable Wayne Rooney and picking up one of the many pundits in New York with a bit of energy.

It's similar to how the Ashes coverage on TNT is shite because every break in play and they go back to some dreary pundits clearly shattered back in England in a studio with no sense of the occasion or atmosphere.

It's unreasonable to expect the BBC to have a full team at every match but I don't see why they couldn't have a base to work from as ITV have done. The BBC coverage does not feel like they're a part of the world cup.

Belgium resting their bigger names and pissing it while their old manager panders to Ronaldo.

They're hardly pissing it to be fair. Been a struggle for them in most games and arguably shouldn't be here given what happened against Senegal.

Wouldn’t surprise me if US sack Poch and go for Guardiola

I'd be amazed if Pep took that job.

I suspect he'll just take a year or two out and assess as Klopp has done.

I think BBC have improved as the tournament has gone on. Azpilcueta is a good edition for example. I don't mind the combo on the England games. Couple of occasions having real wildcard choices has been interesting. While the commentary is so much better on the BBC with Danny Murphy managing that weirdo, miserable role much better than Lee Dixon.

I think Neville is becoming increasingly boring on ITV. With some really incorrect takes about 'eXteNDed TouRNamEnT!'
