They don’t have the players for it, they’ve bought water carrier midfielders to accommodate their front 4. They don’t have technical midfields who can come close to competing with Rodri, Olmo and Fabian.

Yeah I see what you mean… maybe need to abandon the front 4 and get an extra man in the middle.. right now they ain’t creating a lot without the ball in good areas

I actually expected Deschamps to revert to type and play 3 in the middle here, but even with three, I don’t think they can compete. Spanish 3 is just superior. And it’s not just the three, they have Cucurella inverting in there too.

Our midfield is better than Frances comfortably. But Tuchel won’t change system now, we’d do the same thing again with the wide rotating triangles, and probably lose imo. But in a one off game you never know.
