If the wages are fine, then sure. I’m almost certain they won’t be.

2 year deal is also problem - the issue is, what happens if this doesn’t work out? We’re stuck with a costly bum for two years and we can ill afford that.

The plus point is no Bazunu, no Stolarcyzk

We could still loan him out, or sell.

Tbf you can see the thinking, two year deal and won’t be spenny, opens the door for Jakob to go, and he should be stable and not make too many mistakes, and if we can go up we can spend a bit more on a Mads type keeper and have him as our insurance

Disagree.

He close ally of Russell and will be competing for number 1 with either Vietes or Stol.

Fully expect Vietes or Sol to be sold now with Bauser as number 3.

Disagree with a question? Strange.

He’s had a habit in his career of taking the number one spot after a keeper injury or a drop in form of someone else. I’ve no doubt he’s here to compete or perhaps we have a decent offer on the table for Jakub.

I know what you mean, but I don’t think so at this ripe old age. Having said that we are playing Sunday league next season so he might be alright

Remember all the older goalkeepers we've had over the past few decades?

Schmeichel? Schwarzer? Ricardo? Warner? Pressman? Flowers?

I don't think any of the keepers Martin inherited can do the role he wants a goalkeeper to do, so makes sense for him to go back to a previous player who can.

Vietes probably closest to it as he's started the friendlies. Stolarczyk will end up moving on. Could have an ok career but I won't shed any tears.

Both keepers have played the same amount of minutes in each friendly.

Duh, obviously but how likely is it?

Who is buying a 37 year old keeper on 20k pw? You could maybe loan him out but clubs aren’t going to pay 100%.

Pickford, Allison, Ederson, Kasper all in their 30's.......36 is not old for a goalkeeper.

Kasper retiring at 39

Allison is 34, 36 for a L1 goalkeeper is perfectly fine tbh!

Still, there are options.

Yes it is, keepers might go on for a bit longer but 36 is still very much old for a goalkeeper

As much as this probably doesn’t make any sense, if he’s been here for years and signs a new contract at 36 no problem. But signing a new Keeper at the age of 36 isn’t great.
