Abdul Fatawu To Join Ipswich Town In Permanent Deal

We can confirm that an agreement has been reached between Leicester City and Ipswich Town for the sale of Abdul Fatawu for an undisclosed fee, subject to league and international approval.

The 22-year-old Ghana international initially joined us on loan from Sporting Lisbon at the start of the 23/24 season, before making the move permanent the following summer after an impressive campaign which saw us lift the Sky Bet Championship.

He has made 100 appearances for us in all competitions, scoring a total of 16 goals.

We would like to thank Abdul for his efforts over the last three seasons as he departs with the very best wishes of everyone at Leicester City.

I'd have been gutted about losing him last summer. Now I'm not arsed.

Don't get me wrong, he will do well with discipline and a set up that's basically everything ours wasn't. It's unfair to pin all our hopes on him and JJ like we did.

That being said, he's another one who could not give a flying a **** when shit hit the fan. Maybe in time I'll forgive him more than others because of age, but anyone involved with last season will not be missed.

My sentiments exactly

Bye sweet prince. You gave us magic moments, and it should have been many more.

You deserved better than Ipswich, but i bet you enjoy scoring some 98th minute deflected bangers.

If they steal our song we should fine them.

Spot on...how can people care 🤣? Back 2 back relegations! No sentiment for any of em.

Why do we always put undisclosed fee? Buying or selling, men’s or women’s team it’s always undisclosed.

Probably to avoid even more criticism. I don't think this deal is particularly bad but they'd hate for everyone to get a proper picture of the finances based on the deals we have made.

Bye sweet prince. Was never the bad apple IMO. Hope he finds form for his own sake otherwise wasted talent.

Likely will get smashed by one of his goals if they get relegated and we get promoted  lol

Good money for a bloke who downs tools when it gets difficult. Not confident at all he will doing any good in the premier league.

Where and when did he “down tools”? Just wanted to know as I never got that impression. Wingers do go in and out of form, if he was always good/great he’d have never been with us.

I wish him luck on his new chapter. We move on and so do players.

League 1 transfer record already? Massive aren't we.

Good luck to him but I don't think he's going to do much over the next few years...we'll look back on this as good buisness I reckon.
