We are absolutely not in League 1 because of Abdul Fatawu. I know a lot of the yer da types on here consistently spew about how he isn't bothered or doesn't try but I've never seen that from him. Frankly, if we had a squad with his attitude and ability we'd be a Premier League team.

 

It's extremely depressing that untalented players are given far more leeway than any maverick like Abdul.

 

Good luck to him and I hope we've got a sell-on clause.

I think Fatawu is genuinely a top footballer and a top guy.  I understand people are frustrated with him but it is all about the situation at the club and not him as a professional or a human. Its natural to have feelings of everyone is bad when we are in a place like we are, but the reality is that its not true. A clubs role is to nurture and support players and give them the structure to be the best they can and we severely let abdul down in everyway possible.  I dont place any of the blame on him, yes it would be lovely if he had been able to play his best every game but quite simply as a club we made that impossible. Without his contributions we would have have been down by xmas

We need the money and he was clearly never going to play in league one but what what a shite club to join. His stock must have dropped after last season, really thought hed have ended up a mid table prem team rather than a team likely to be relegated.

Unfortunately for the money we got for him we needed to sell as I doubt a year in league one would have helped us get any more for him. Shame as he is a good player on his day

Spot on, and i dont really get the hatred towards him from some of our fans.  I think some fans just hate everything and everyone associated with the club after the past few years, which to be fair, is understandable, but Fatawu was on a hiding to nothing with a combination of shite players and shite tactics.

Seems like good timing for the sale too, I can imagine he’d have started kicking off to get out if we’d tried to delay the deal ( if his Instagram last season was anything to go by) and that would’ve reduced the fee, plus for us it hopefully opens the spending wallet slightly 🤞🏻

Probably one of the easiest wingers to nulify.

 

Taken out the game by some (...almost all..) very poor Championship sides so don't expect him to get much success in the Premier League.

 

See you back in the Championship next season.

 

Was always an inevitable move. Probably has potential with the right club, don't see it being Ipswich though.

All the best to Abdul. Don't dislike him as a human. Got very frustrated with him as a player last season, probably because deep down I know he's very good so it's even more annoying when he was crap.

 

But he's always seemed like a nice lad.  And he hasn't gone to Coventry.
