In the successful years like many you had to think "how can I complain, this is incredible", but in retrospect the niggles were always there, like the way Top hogged the trophy on the day we lifted the title. 

Couldn't agree more. Not to sound too Richard Dawkins, but the Buddhist practices (being done around what is a multi-faith workplace in a multi-faith city) always struck me as off too. I wouldn't want any religion being given the spotlight in my football club, and it's weird that we've kind of taken it for granted that there are monks rocking up to the training ground and stadium once a season. I think it all falls under the problem with clubs being owned by the extremely wealthy - they just become extensions of their beliefs and interests at best, and active sport-washing tools at worst. I dream of living in a world where England had adopted 50+1.

If you’re referring to Kevin Davies, according to companies house, he was shown as resigning as club secretary yesterday and being replaced by Matthew Ashforth. 
 

You’d change that if Davies had left ….

Ashforth joined the club as Head of Legal 20 months ago, and was promoted to General Counsel 4 months ago.

He will probably appear as a director shortly.  Not normal for the CEO to be CoSec.

Great post , interesting. And I also will always be grateful for the great memories as a fan.

 

But there's no such thing as a ' good ' billionaire. I've worked for very rich men , and you don't get to that point without stepping on plenty of people on your way up. These people definitely aren't saints. There's another point to hoarding that much personal wealth but I'll leave that for another day. 

 

So whilst I may prefer an owner that doesn't have blood on its hands from some corrupt regime , all of these guys have done some pretty dirty shit over the years and king power will be the same. I just think it's naive of some people to think these are wonderful people, like you say , sports washing at it's finest. 

 

For me , the fan owned model would be the best for clubs , but I realise at this point that's equally naive of me to wish for.

No, more of an apathic stance towards KP in general. As for me personally, they saved us from bankrupcy in 2017, kept us afloat for ten years despite the losses and propelled us to a stable first division team for the first time in our history. Was it all perfect? definitely not. But it could have been far, far worse. 

Then again, we're not led by Rudkin but have our own independent management, which changed in 2024 and we've been on the right track since then. Cleaning up financially, will probably be in the green for the first time ever soon (maybe even last year already, but gotta wait for the annual report) without any real regression in the league.

Thought that brochure was someone taking the piss on here. Looks like a  student bit of coursework. 

Never mind, realistic owners know our recent history roughly through the media. Its the culture and past they need to get their heads around when here and most importantly the financial figures. 

Finally please dont plaster your name over the stadium and give a nod to our past. EG the Jamie Vardy Stand, the Wes Morgan family stand etc.

Interesting that Matthew Ashforth was legal advisor at Dubai Properties a couple of years ago, an entity owned by the state of Dubai (Dubai Holdings Al Maktoum). Also did a short stint at another state owned property company in 2024.
