Improved balance sheet as converting debt into equity strengthens the club's net asset position and financial stability on paper.

Could anyone explain this in simple terms to a financial dimwit?

£8.5m is probably the player wage bill for the next 4-5 months (as horrifying as that sounds) which may well be the remainder of their time here.

I doubt very much he has ever wanted to sell. There's no change of heart to have. Simply, he's run out of money. His choices are limited  to selling it or losing it completely.

I would think it’s more to facilitate the sale of the club…… perhaps a potential buyer has been found but they want to buy the club debt free?

If he had then we'd know.

The usual suspects on social media falling over themselves for praise for Top and KP.  Absolutely incredible that these folk cannot see the damage they have done to this club. Regardless of when the club is sold, it will take years for any new owner to try and fix the club and get us anywhere near being a serious football club again.

The moment the decision to sell was made, Rudkin knew that he's finished – as he won't get a job in football outside KPFC. So maybe he is trying to turn Top's head and/or sabotage the sale from the inside.

8m wouldnt cover that though? Would have thought that AjcW point is most likely. A debt number has possibly been published as part of the bidding process and this sum probably rights off debt accrued since that number was published.

That's what gets me too – the inability to separate between Vichai and what he did and then those who have come after him and what they have done.

Perhaps we need to create a banner to make it simple for people:

Vichai = Amazing, had a vision, delivered
Top & Co. = Clown car, blind, like Evri

Not really convinced it's related to a sale, unless a sale was imminent.  If a buyer doesn't want to pay for it, KP could have done this at any time before ownership changes hands and in the meantime the buyer would value the club on that implied basis.  Or they could offer to pay 8.5m less, give that amount to the club and have the club repay the KP debt.  So it does feel a bit odd to do it right now, knowing it would require a public filing.  I wonder if King Power Group has an audit or accounting exercise which means they want to show it as equity not debt.  Or they're staying in the medium term...

My guess is this a a stop gap to avoid administration and to keep control before it’s taken out of his hands.

This might be more accurate, though does seem strange we were paying fees earlier in the month if thats the case.

Might be to cover the Window?

Could it be that we are just overly priced? Lal and his entourage even said this so they are more then likely pushing for a lesser bid

Is there any actual evidence that we're close to administration? I see it suggested all the time, but there never seems to be anything concrete behind it.

Think charging the players to stay over in the holiday camp and last weekends heavy discount on full kit are pointers to the fact that the cupboard is basically now bare

Both examples you've mentioned would be like trying to put out a house fire with your own piss. 1) could be getting rid of surplus stock of kit and 2) they have woken up to the holiday camp comments and introduced a small charge.

Not until the accounts are published and then it will be 9/10 months out of date.
