Monga had more unknowns in my eyes, didn’t really deliver when he played last season… regardless of age, if you play first team there is a level of expectation. Granted those round him were awful, but I digress. Page showed some steel in the centre and it felt he could play a bigger part this season. If he does go, hope it is for more than Monga. 1

The obsession with the big 6 in the media will have been with them all of their life and the reports suggest Page is keen for the move and has been courted by a few of them for a while . Not sure how Leicester could fight this off even if they were in the Prem. A sobering thought is that only about 20% of those of Page’s age who leave a club outside of the big 6 to join a big 6 club actually make the move a success. 9

Obvs it’ll be somewhere in the middle. If he leaves for a decent fee with a sell on, we avoid admin and bring in 2 CBs and 2 STs who can be coached and go up in value it’ll be a good deal for us given where we are. That’s the sad reality of the mess these clowns have got us into. 2

I can’t believe that several clubs all of a sudden decided that page was available. If the kid is fixated on utd then that won’t help us drive a higher fee. Wouldn’t be surprised to see 5m and a 15% sell on. If we’d played him more last season then we’d likely be able to ask for more.
indierich06 Posted 10 August Posted 10 August It would be galling for us fans to lose a bright prospect, but seems like that's just the game these days. Yes, we're a shambles of a club and we're being run into the ground, but I think he'd go to United if we were in the PL too. It's sad to say, but this is what success looks like for an academy at boardroom level - not whether you can produce talent for your own team, but how much profit you can bank from selling off your homegrown assets. A few million quid and a loan back is probably the best we can hope for. 1

We’ll see if he leaves what the fee is (although it could be another undisclosed ) then you’ll know if we have major issues !

I don't think they would accept that. I think they'll want him playing at a higher level. I think if we were looking for a player from their academy in a position we're light in then we should ask for Dan Gore. Defensive midfielder, did very well for Rotherham in League 1 last season and was their shining light in a poor season. Won their player of the season award. Edited 10 August by AKCJ 2

Sorry but Man Utd would be a head turner for any player throughout history. Them and Liverpool will always be a great pull, as they always have been, nothing to do with media obsession.

That said, if Man U come in with a bid for a player of ours in any division then that player goes. We'd just get a bigger fee in a higher division.

If we take our blue tinted specs off, we will realize We’d be very lucky to get close to £10m for him. Edited 10 August by MPH

Only wages, bonuses, signing on fees, agent fees etc.
