I agree that we're going to have a lot of the ball this season whoever is in charge, but I think the players are capable of playing in different ways. Not Russball =/= hoofball.

The ‘seasoned pros’ are a joke, every one of them. Cullen, Reid, Burns, McCarthy, Skipp all pathetic. Chaplin made of glass. Okoli horrific.

I don’t disagree with your point in isolation. It’s more the fact that we’ve had years and years of this. It was the same under Rodgers. I don’t blame anyone for feeling worried.

I thought we played well today but at the end of the day we've just played MK Dons in a League 1 football match and not scored a goal.

You sure about that? I was there and I thought it was turgid, slow to move up the pitch, no creativity or flair and we didn't score. 

 

MK Dons were awful and offered absolutely nothing. It's probably the worst team I've seen in a long time, yet we didn't beat them. 

 

It was decent in parts but overall I would say it was very poor, not good football. It's boring. The team that last played and won this league would have beaten their today. 

 

The striker is isolated, there is no box crashing midfielder. No one wants to carry the ball forward. It's too slow. And why does it always take so long to sort throw ins???!! No one wants it. 

 

Good football? I'm not having it. 

 

I agree that playing the kids was great to see, but the type of football is restrictive and that's not good

Fair points but his substitution/game management was atrocious today. Forced into an early sub we means you lose a window. Burns was so bad he should have gone at half time because that also saves you a sub window. Instead he didn't do that and made another single sub at 60 mins. So now you've got only 1 more opportunity to make subs which means you're unlikely to gamble and bring on anybody for another 15/20 mins (as he did) because then you'd be down to 10 players if somebody got injured. Alves therefore on the pitch way too late. So all in all, that's was so poor.

 

But general performance was very good today. It's just that we can't do anything when we reach the 18 yard box and we've always got the ability to gift the other team a goal.

I generally agree today, "lots" of chances being subjective aside. But the manager will get no leeway given the baggage he came in with, and the baggage the club were already carrying.

I do find it mind blowing how low some of our expectations have fallen. People are actually satisfied with not scoring and failing to beat MK Dons in League bloody One. Have some standards for christ sake. Its shameful, particularly when you compare our squad value and wages to the rest of the league.

Did you really think Huddersfield were going to pay what we thought the future value for Alves might be? He went on developmental loan. I am sure if they offered £5m for him we would have considered it.

The fans redirecting the boos at the academy players know what they're doing. They also know full well that the boos aren't meant for them.

 

Probably the same group of people who would jump on their backs if they weren't performing like they did with Nelson after the game against Huddersfield last season.

 

It's another season where we have tied a weight around our necks with seasoned pros who are past their sell by date. Burns for example is meant to inject life into this team and be a leader yet he was disgraceful today. The boos were meant for these seasoned pros and the idiots who recruited them.

Not a single one of us satisfied with 0-0 draw to MK Dons in League One. But we’ve had 2-3 seasons of overpaid arrogant inadequate waste of space so called elite footballers not give a shit for LCFC. Now we have largely a bunch of young lads giving their all for the shirt. They are resetting our standards and without them we wouldn’t have a future, maybe we still don’t. However they’re realistically our only chance and we need to back them

No manager is settling on there best team after a few games, least he isn't afraid to change it and find the right team which he isn't far off with the players available.
