How did he end up staying so long when he started only 62 of those 166 appearances? Should have been moved on years ago for his own sake as well as ours. Has never been more than a back up player in all his time for us.

Because the bumper contracts KPFC have handed out to so many below average players since 2016 has made them incredibly difficult to move on. It's taken 10 years for the penny to drop and for the dunces running the club to learn the lesson.

Usually when a player has been at a club as long as Hamza has at LCFC, that player is universally loved by the fans, even if they're not the best. I think it says a lot about Hamza that no-one is particularly sad that he's gone. He's stolen a living for large parts of his Leicester career.

I think him and Thomas have had favourable treatment likely because they were the last cohort to be directly coached/managed by Rudkin.

 

They both had bumper contracts when they shouldn’t have. Probably £25m (maybe more?) in wages between them. Scandalous.

My lunch just went in the bin because I'm disgusted. Russell Martin is ripping the heart out of this club. Hamza made 57 appearances in the Premier League. He won the Championship, the FA Cup and the Community Shield. And yet a player with those credentials, who we have hand reared has been given away for nothing! Wilder deems Hamza good enough for an ambitious Championship club with intense Premier League aspirations and yet we're supposed to believe he couldn't have done a job for a League One side?! He won promotion out of this division with Burton Albion in 2016.

Players just won’t sign for one year. They won’t sign for less money. You have to overpay them forever otherwise they just won’t join.
