We are so lightweight and short in most areas, so having some physical presence up front, especially when playing a single striker, is the safer bet in this league. With Russell ball, we're not going to play in behind.

Something we're really lacking, we rarely have good numbers in the box. We've looked so much better when a striker is occupying a defender and being watched by a midfielder etc.

We’re clearly up the creek without a paddle financially and this won’t get better til KP are gone. But we’ve clearly had to get rid of the dross to have any room to bring players in and won’t be spending huge amounts. Some what tiring when some haven’t managed their expectations of where we are in this market, it’s hard to take but we are where we are. 1

Might work well if they're on a job share with the experienced guy starting and the younger lad replacing him for the last 30 minutes. Not saying I like it, but I think the other option is Cullen or Reid in the false 9...

Statistically he is not a 10-15 goal Championship striker, although a 10 goal Championship striker isn't particularly impressive, it's a 46 game season in a fairly high scoring league. He's averaged 8 goals a season in 6 seasons in the Championship, managing double figures (12 & 16) twice. He's a goal every 0.34 lots of 90 player across his career. As an out and out centre forward. For context, Liam Cullen scores a goal every 0.29 lots of 90 playing predominantly deeper and averages about 7.75 goals a Championship season. Edited 1 September by Finnegan
