The amount of player transactions in both directions this summer and just over the last couple of days tells you how much Rudkin held us back. Cant be a coincidence we finally get a DOF in and all of a sudden we are able to do this.

 

Whether they are all good players is a different question!

We're able to get 3 Brighton youth players because Martin has links with Brighton, it's nothing more than that.

To continue being pedantic, that would be for Southampton under 21's (or was it still under 23's then?) so not a proper Southampton debut. The point was that he's 2 years older than what was suggested above

Seen this said a few times and I know it's a joke but it's a weird one as we've seen in the last few games Martin clearly likes his midfielders to carry the ball up the pitch from midfield. It's just the nonsense he insists on around our own box before it gets to that point which is the glaring issue.

Surprising this hasn’t had more noise - from all things considered his league 1 stats are very good and he literally played every game last season and season before in this league - could Mean Chaplin is crocked or Russel has realised we need more competition in 10 role than Cullen and bob - either way this guy can play 8 or 10 - I really like this one - he could be the best of all 3 of the Brighton lads

Looks good. Hard to see where he fits, but suppose it means less game time for Reid and Cullen which isn’t a bad thing based on what we’ve seen.

It seems that he is in the last year of his contract at Brighton and hasn’t signed an extension when leaving on loan as is often the case. Is that the understanding of others?

 

Seems odd as he seems to have done really well at this level so I wonder why he hasn’t stepped up, or why Brighton haven’t extended. 
 

Maybe an opportunity for us anyway if he does end up performing well and is available on a free!

May well be made perm in Jan in that case, loan probably just the quickest way of getting a deadline deal done.

Yeah, maybe. You would just think that if Brighton valued him, he’d have had his contract extended, gone to a Championship club to improve his development at a higher level or both. The lack of either of those suggests that they don’t see a place for him going forwards.

The volume of talent they have there will always be one or two that slip through. If we benefit from that then great.

Probably doing him a bit of a disservice considering Doyle is proven in this league, but this all feels very Dujuan Richards.

He must have signed a new contract with Chelsea as he joined Wimbledon on loan yesterday
