We all know we are going to lose this one don't we

dare to dream and hope we can put a string of results together and this team will let you down

desperately hope I am wrong but this has horrible 0-3 all over it

Team with roughly same points as us (they have a game in hand). A smidge of positivity after 3 wins in 4 games (yeah - i know we have played some semi professionals!)

IF we win we are mixing it right in the play off spots.

Its at home, we can get right behind the team and get a great performance here.

You are bang on, this has got a 3-0 defeat written all over it.

Liam Cullen in his wellies is quicker than Luke Thomas.

Cullen is as quick as Rachid Ghezzal, and he was according to the Monico fans "fast as turtle..."

They were right.

You massively disagree? Seriously? You think Luke Thomas is quicker than Liam Cullen? Come off it.

You really do have some strange opinions.
But like everyone you are entitled to them even if they are wrong.

Probably need to give Doyle a rest, Thomas definitely needs one after blowing out his arse most of the game yesterday but Martin won’t leave him out.

So changes likely to be Lundstram Braybrooke and Cullen the friendly ghost back in for Chaplin, Smallbone and Doyle.
defensive shambles rinse and repeat.

If we win this one it might convince me that we've finally bottomed out as a club and have stopped the freefall through the football pyramid. Settling at lower to mid table as a baseline.

We've beaten and lost to the teams currently at the bottom of the division, they're pure shite. But it's given the team the time to learn about each other and the manager time to get his ideas across and have an impact on the training pitch.

Now we've got a run of games against actual decent sides in the division. Our real season starts now.

Worth pointing out that youd expect our budget to be slashed if we dont go up as well as losing some of our better performers.

This is how were doing with a massive financial advantage. Once it evens up a bit financially we can definitely keep sinking :D

The problem is the money has been largely misspent. Money I only part of the problem, the bigger issue is who picks the players.

I'm on the optimistic bus 3 - 1. I know there appears to be a lot of negativity, but I'm hoping our squad depth at these busy periods will be beneficial.

It's not an opinion. It's a fact that Luke Thomas is slower than Liam Cullen. Can't believe this is even a debate, even if it is with the usuals.

Yes. Seriously.

Cullen is widely regarded as lacking physically and in the speed department.

Now I’m not saying LT is a quick player, but he’s quicker than Liam Cullen.

You think Liam Cullen is comfortably quicker than LT and Macfarlane? Come off it.

I'll butt in and say Cullen is quicker off the mark/to accelerate but has a lower top speed than Thomas

Thomas also finds himself wrong-footed or backpedalling when he should be starting a sprint which slows him down too

                   McCarthy

    Kanga     Kanga    Kanga
Aluko  Page Kanga Sammy Kanga

                   Alves  Riis

Sorted. We might even see some energy and commitment.

Yep this is exactly my prediction to “freshen things up”. Don’t think we’ll see Kanga get a start until the FA Cup game or Jersey Mike’s. Also think Chaplin only got a start yesterday, because Lundstram was suspended and Martin needed a captain.

                      McCarthy

         O’Hora - Souttar - Okoli

             Lundstram - Page

Alves - Braybrooke - Cullen - Thomas

                             Riis

Hardly deserved though was it.

We all know Okoli will start again but it’s nice to dream and the Finnish lad certainly deserves a go.

I can see him persisting with Chaplin as he’s spoken about leaders and if there’s any sort of hope that Chaplin can find some form he’s worth being patient for.

Doesnt look good though, seems to have put too much muscle on, doesn’t look fit and won’t risk full acceleration.

Only reason I think he might go Cullen is he seems to see Braybrooke and Chaplin as competing for the role on the right, based on his interviews, and so it would make sense that it’s Doyle and Cullen for the other

I’d like to see….

                           McCarthy

              O’Hora - Souttar - Kanga
 Coulibaly - Lundstram - Page  - Thomas

               Alves                Braybrooke

                               Riis

Cornell, Aluko, Smallbone, Doyle, Howell, Cullen,  Brstrić

I hope we learn from the Oxford thrashing and rotate players after a midweek game. Half our team is young and a lot of the older ones didn't have a proper pre-season... fatigue could be a factor again.

Tempting to keep a winning team but we played midweek and they didn't so I'd make a few changes.

Starting XI

                          McCarthy

              Okoli  Souttar  Kanga
 Burns  Lundstram   Sammy    MacF

               Howell     Riis     Cullen

Finishing XI

                          McCarthy

               Okoli  Souttar  Kanga
 Alves  Lundstram   Smallbone    Thomas

               Doyle     Riis     Chaplin

Word to the wise.

I take an 80 year old football who had a fall and banged his head yesterday. The medical team were great. They took him in, they glued him up, they let him watch the game, and then they referred him to the royal.

The medical team were brilliant.

The only issue was the steward who came and demanded to see his ticket for entry during this.

Don't get hurt and expect to be allowed into the fortress unchecked, folks.
