Excellent effort by the batsmen. Completely let down by the bowlers as usual. Has that kimber ever batted before?

Played a few times for the 2s and has generally done well in the uni/minor counties stuff I think. Pleased we are having a proper look at him.

Another frustrating one as it shows (batting-wise anyway) what we can actually do on our day.

 

Mind you, did well to get that close against that Yorkshire side.

Inglis is class. Problem is that the other batters keep getting starts but then hole out for 20 or 30. Patel started looking good and instead of playing the percentages goes for another 6 when he'd already got 17 off the first 4 balls of the over. There was no need to go for another 6. Lilley threw away his wicket when set. And even Ackermann smashed a ball that would have been called a wide straight to a fielder. 

 

But overall to score 220+ against an attack with 3 international bowlers in it was some effort.

 

As for the bowling only Parkinson and Ackermann have looked anywhere near good enough. The seamers are a joke and Lilley would be lucky to get a bowl for a club side. Never thought I'd say this but we need to get Klein back. And what about Wright, who has been brilliant in the Championship?
