Many times I've fallen into the trap of "I'll be happy when......" (I pay off the mortgage/retire/kids move out etc.)

Knowing my luck, the day all that happens will be the day I get knocked over by a bus.

I guess the trick for us all is to try and "Be happy now" - but I know that's easier said than done.

Haha just a bit mate.

You say that mate, but I bet I could give you 5 reasons right now to be happy:

1. You support the best football team in the world

2. You're in a loving relationship?

3. You're in good health (as far as I know/compared to most)

4. You've got a steady job that pays O.K. (maybe not the best job in the world, but you've got a job)

5. You seem to love travelling and have been to lots of cool places (and I'm sure you've got more on your list to see!)

And there's probably many more reasons for you to be happy and grateful. The problem is that most people are just never happy with their lot and are always striving for more.

Love you dude

Thanks mate. Yeah all of the above is true but you know how it is.

I wake up every morning and have to persuade myself not to call in sick at work (I’ve had about 6 days in 7 years) and wonder how the **** I maintain this for as long as I would need to.

My guess mate is that you're not doing a job that truly brings you joy, and you're not yet doing what you were really put on the planet to do.

Most people spend their whole lives trying to figure out their purpose but when we can find work that fills our heart, it doesn't feel like 'work' at all.

I coach and train so many people who are simply in the wrong job because they're scared to follow their true passion in life.

Take a risk dude, follow your heart, trust your instincts - you're still young enough.

The world needs the best version of you with all your brilliance, talents, creativity and awesomeness - not the one you've mentioned above :(

Today, I officially became an OAP. :nono: Turned 66 but I still feel 26. Oh well.

Seems like the last 40 years have been just a blink of an eye.

Just act like you're 26, but use your bus pass to get everywhere lol

Work absolutely sucks balls doesn’t it, I need a get rich quick idea that involves me not actually doing anything.

Story of my life, except i don't suck balls.

Just let the money show up so we can retire and moan on foxestalk full time!

Bus pass won't even get me to Northampton. Market Harborough is the closest and you'll have to come and fetch me from the bus station if you want to sell me a 2017 Vauxhall Astra.

Join the club and take the positives - you now get a pension you didn't have before and you can get a bus pass (if you really want to feel good about yourself use an old photo).

Day off today, had to pop in to work for an appointment.

Arrived at 3, left at 5.

Sold 2 cars lol

I'm in negotiations with management to work flexi-time!

On the downside, no day off till next Thursday. But a few days annual leave from 28th November. Going to Watford at home and Southampton away.

Also squeezing in Everton and Man City away later in the month, had some luck in the ballots!

Loving work, still only 3 months in and really enjoying it.

Totally different to working in a car supermarket, where its absolutely ruthless and pushy, definitely wasn't comfortable with that.

Hope things are good with the wife @Izzy

Bet the kids are sick of microwave meals already :P

The wife is a bit better thanks but still resting up and recovering while I'm busy vacuuming the house, cleaning out and feeding the pets, doing the washing, cooking all the meals, getting the kids ready for school, helping them with their homework, and then driving them around to their various clubs.

Luckily I've got fvck all else to do like earn a living or pay the bills etc.

You domestic god, you.

Kinda turning me on.

I'm picturing Freddie Mercury in the video he's hoovering, dressed as a woman.

Well, the greying ginger version without such a manly tache lol

Where we would be without the Mrs to hold things together!

Glad she's feeling better mate 👍

Just back from a black tie do at the tigers. Charity gig by the local masons. I’m not one, but my mate is and if it’s a boozy sports do I’ll attend. 800 there!

Anyway, the main attraction was Kevin (can I print his first name?) Keegan was the guest speaker. He was very good, I’m 70 next year but still queued for his autograph.

Told him he broke my heart in 74. He said after they battered us in the first game, they genuinely thought they might lose the replay. His volleyed goal from the edge of the box put paid to that! Then he confirmed the final against Newcastle was one of the most boring games he had ever played in. They just didn’t turn to.

Got a nice picture, but won’t post it as we both look our age😂😂. Really down to earth bloke though and still with his missus after 50 years. Spoke really highly of Shanks and Hughes.

Got an interview at work later for a promotion, it’s basically the job I’ve been doing for the last 6 months but still need to formally interview for it. I can do it with my eyes shut (because I have been for the last 6 months) but still feel a bit nervy and i’m worried about one of the interviewers being a bit of a dick on purpose because I’m a known entity. I much prefer interviewing with people I’ve never met before, but what will be will be.

Just been to Sainsburys...

Bargain or what? I hate Corona, but it's beer and it's 2.49 for 11 bottles lol

20211118_205824.jpg

I think we've all had enough Corona over the last two years. No wonder its £2.49.

Out of interest, I wonder if Corona are struggling financially?

A bloke down the road from me had a converted horsebox to sell icecream at festivals etc. His business was called ISIS and the horsebox was painted with ISIS in big black letters. It disappeared sharply after certain events a few years back lol

You may be too young to remember but the same unfortunate thing happened in the Eighties to a hitherto successful brand of slimming drink called Ayds...
