Bit of a worrying start to the day. The wife (who's normally fit as a fiddle) climbs back into bed at 7am, wakes me up and says "what month is it?"

Turns out she's passed out downstairs, banged her head and has no idea what happened or how long she was out for. She's shivering, confused and I imagine concussed.

Fair play to NHS 111, spoke to a Doctor and the Paramedics came out within 20 mins. Did a few tests on her but now took her to A&E.

Very strange and out the blue. It's usually me who's ill and she's the rock

Thanks Jatt and Inno. Yeah I've just Googled it which has shit me up big time.

Just spoke to the Doctor and he asked me what time I found her unconscious. I explained that she came back upstairs after she came round, so she's clearly confused and told them a different story.

Really weird that she has no recollection of what happened. It's horrible to see someone lose their memory like this.

Izzy as I'm sure you'll have worked out if your wife has a bleed on the brain they have to fix it.  So they may have to keep her in.  It's more common than you may have realised, my brother-in-law had one earlier this year and was in hospital for a while but is home now.  Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Thanks everyone for your kind messages - what a wonderfully supportive place FT can be sometimes.

Just heard the tests show no bleeding on the brain which is a massive relief.

The wife still can't remember anything from this morning so they're keeping her in overnight for more obs.

Hopefully nothing too serious but she obviously passed out for a reason and they need to find out why.

Been a worrying day all round but your messages have meant a lot.

Thanks again.

If she's lucky, she'll forget she ever married you :)

It's one of them, whilst it must be relief there's no bleeding on the brain, you still want to know what's caused her to lose consciousness. Hopefully it's just a one time thing and nothing on going.

Mum's 19 year old cat Smudge died yesterday :(. Pets really do become part of the family don't they. I was still living at home when we got her and her sister Amber. Amber was killed by neighbours dog 10 years ago, and my mums also had a Henry and taken in a stray called Poppy who both died in the last couple of years. Smudge outlived them all.

With this incident, and other things you've mentioned about your family matters in the past on here, you/your family do seem to experienced a bit of bad fortune/bad luck..
