Fez of Mahrez Posted 20 January 2008 Share Posted 20 January 2008 ****ing hell. I'm listening to The Blue Album by Weezer. I'm back at uni, in the first year. Seeing everyone again for the first time in ages for my mates stag do next month. The world has turned, and left me here, just where I was, before you disappeared, and in your place, an empty space, has filled the void, behind my face. Fantastic album. My name is Jonas! I'm carrying the wheel!

Trav Le Bleu Posted 20 January 2008 Share Posted 20 January 2008 Hey Joe - Jimi Hendrix Takes me back to sitting in The Lifeboat (a pub) in St Ives, before it was refitted. Used to be a great old style pub (of the kind that are hard to find nowadays - had an uneven flagstone floor) right on the harbour front with a great jukebox. Was my first holiday away without parents (and NO, it wasn't a current hit, I'm not that old!)

The People's Hero Posted 23 January 2008 Share Posted 23 January 2008 Loads of songs remind me of specific periods in my life, specific events, occasionally significant journeys etc. Dire Straits - Romeo and Juliet Foo Fighters - Walking After You Green Day - Good Riddance Fratelli's - Basically the entire album. David Gray - Smile. Bob Dylan - When You Go Your Way and I Go Mine. Blackstreet - Don't Leave Hot Chip - No Fit State Soulwax - Much Against Everyone's Advice Feeder - Just a Day (alright, I'll tell you that one. Tues nights at Fan Club). Melanie Brooks - Bitch (seriously!) Not going to tell you what they take me back to though, so it's all a bit pointless.

purpleronnie Posted 23 January 2008 Share Posted 23 January 2008 ALIVE by Pearl Jam. I remember seeing the video for the first time, starts with the sound of waves crashing then an amazing guitar sound and immediately I knew this band we're for me. It was 1991 and they we're the first band I ever followed. I was 16 it takes me back to my GCSE years, going to raves (remember them) and drinking a lot, hanging out with my mates without a care in the world. Last year I went to see PJ for the first time, and remember sheding a tear when they played it. Magical.

Flynny Posted 26 January 2008 Share Posted 26 January 2008 It Ended on an Oily Stage by British Sea Power never fails to remind me of a trip to Wales. I listened to Open Season quite a bit that week but the opener's the best. The keyboards make the song. Perfect album for fields, really.
