I hope Mandaric has tucked him up by accepting a bid of £1 more from Barnsley.

He wanted football at a higher level, MM gave him it.

If Mandaric and Hoos are to be believed, Hume wanted out. If so, bollocks to him after what he said when we went down. If they are lying, it explains his departure to Barnsley of all places as the club obviously wanted shot of him and he had no choice but to join the shit arses.

THEY RELEGATED US!

To be fair Stears did play his heart out and Hume seemed to be running a one man survival campaign at the end of the season that just wasn't quite enough.

These two players were not responsible for our relegation.

I'm genuinely gutted about this, Hume would have been one of the first names on my team sheet for next year and I worry where the goals will come from.

I'm hoping Chambers can step up or Fryatt rediscovers his goal scoring form but Hume was the safest option for getting the goals we need to battling at the top end of this league.

It's all a far cry from this time last year isn't it

2.8Million for these two is a good bit of business.

People moan now, but during the whole of last season people were always had something to say about them.

I have faith in Pearson to sign some good replacements for these 2.

Im not too unhappy about these sales tbh, as long as we keep Mattock.

Will never forget Hume for some good memories, Stearman I can't think of as many. But 2.8Million can go a long way in League1. Chin up people.

Agree with this post, although I'd change it to 'Just OK bit of business'. I feel slightly shafted, but there you go. When's the fuking rest of the strikers going to be sold, that's what I want to know.

Not surprised, he deserves a new start after the way we've shafted him around. Sad to see him go but I'm sure we can pull together what it takes to score goals in this division, with the remaining strikeforce or otherwise.

This team drove us in to league 1 , with more than enough quality to finish top 6.

Fook them all. I'd happily sell evryone over 21.

Good luck to him, he's been easily our best player of the past few years.

Shame we couldn't keep hold of him but on the other hand he contributed to our downfall.

Bit dissapointed to see Hume leave but 1.2m isn't too bad, if the money can be spent!!!

There wasn't many players that came out of last season with any credit but Hume was one. Would have ripped up this div this season.

by the way Hello thought i'd finally register after browsing for a while.

That's pretty much what I was going to say, but you beat me to it Ric (and yay me for reading through the thread before saying exactly the same as someone else) I seem to remember, almost the day after we were relegated, Hume saying that the players who got City relegated should be the ones to get City back up.

So, he's back in the Championship. Hope he enjoys playing in front of an average crowd of 11,424 (Barnsley's average last season)
