Getting my emo on for Panic! At The Disco tomorrow in Birmingham.

Got tickets from my mate as a wedding present, which was really nice as my missus is a big fan but has never actually managed to see them before. Buzzing for her, especially as it's last chance saloon before Big Brendon jacks it in.

Saw them at the Charlotte Jan 2006, they were supporting 'The Academy Is'  they absolutely stole the show and their cover of 'Slow Motion' by Third Eye Blind was incredible

We stood next to the sound tech's and Pete Wentz was doing their sound checks with them.

Amazing to see how far they came but was always obvious they would implode (a little) as their first album is close to perfect if that's your kind of music.

Yeah, it was obviously a completely different experience from that but overall I thought he put on an excellent show. Lost the audience for quite a bit by deciding to do the whole of his new album in between a front and back end of the set featuring the classics, but he didn't disappoint fans who were making the most of a last chance to see him live (until he inevitably gets bored and makes a comeback).

He is a very interesting character and you can see why they have gone through a few different band members over the years. His spat with Brendon Flowers in the early days showed his arrogance but their is no denying he is very talented.

And yes they / he will be back in a few years I'm sure.

Made me chuckle that for the encore he wore an outfit that made him look the spitting image of him.

Off to see The Dead South in Wolverhampton in November.

I wouldn't mind seeing Natalie Merchant later in the year but her UK dates are in London, Manchester, Glasgow and er Bath for some reason.

I haven't been booking much lately, trains have been a nightmare, staying over/tickets have become more expensive. I used to go far and wide to see acts I quite liked but I'm only doing that for the must see's now.

How was that snoop gig? Was considering it but never went in the end.

Probably seemed better than it actually was due to my intoxication.

His old stuff was great, newer stuff (2010 onwards) not so good.

Did tons of covers and was on for about 2 hours. Just glad I got to see him really, probably won't come to Leeds again.

In summary glad I saw him, could have been better.

Yeah I saw the set list, lots of covers, that doggy style album is a classic, and the stuff he did on the chronic album, not really bothered about anything after that.

Not sure if I've ever plugged it but Songkick is a great app. You can track artists and it alerts you when they're touring.
